No.
That team was a mess when it came to WPG.

They are building through the draft with Scheifele, Trouba, Morrisey etc. There are no complaints in Winnipeg right now with the management team. We'll see what they do in the next couple of years to take the next step.

- stormeyweather

Noel was the wrong choice to try to correct that mess though.

We have 3 3rd line centers already, Sean.

Also, he's not healthy and thinks he's worth more than Gaborik. Talk about an ego problem...

- muffin_man

I don't think he thinks he's worth more than Gaborik.

I think he thinks he's worth more than Jokinen.

But does acquiring him create a bigger hole elsewhere?
Unless we can get him for Bourque/Gorges/Emelin + prospects + picks which I doubt so Stormey you don't have to tell me I'm an idiot for offering spare parts

- braidan

Yeah i really don't know they have holes and need a goalie as well, Tokarski//Fucale might be involved.

Can we trade for James Neal? Patrick Marleau?
Great, I'm back 100% to my high-hoping mode. Never ends well.

- Not_Yan

Ryder, Halak, and a 2nd?

Noel is gone.
BTW he was highly thought around the league at the time. Perhaps they should have hired Mike Keenan?

Gallagher, Eller, 1st/D prospect would be my bet
- muffin_man

I think if we trade for any F help it will be someone that we are hoping turns it around, buying VERY low.
I'm too lazy to check but I hope Stastny or ROR become UFA

Didn't the Hawks lock up Bickell after a great playoff year, and have they not been trying to move him since.. Like a one hit wonder.

Don't think so.

Clearly not what this team need, he will end up in Pitt with Kunitz and Crosby.

I did say he WAS the wrong choice. I know he's gone. Who the hell thought highly of him? Not that I follow that stuff much but I had never heard his name in any coaching rumors prior to the Jets coming back. I had never heard of him at all.

Suggesting Bolland (when healthy) is not one of the better third line centers in the league is wrong.

If he's good enough to play in that role in Chicago then he's good enough to play that role in 90% of the teams in the league.

- stormeyweather

i don't see where he was suggesting that. he wasn't suggesting anything, just asking the question.

yup. Statsny wants at least $6.6M per tsn. If we could sign him it opens the door to trading Plek since Statsny is a strong 2-way guy as well. Not that he'd sign of course.

Joel Ward cashed in big as well. Had a good year this year but sure looked like an albatross last summer. Happens most years.

Well he was Hitchcock's assistant coach in Columbus and took over for him as head coach when he was fired.

Then took the Manitoba Moose to the AHL finals the year before the Jets came back.

He was highly tought of, despite you never hearing about him. I know...hard to believe.

He didn't work out....but neither has Dallas Eakins.

Not sure if you've heard of Eakins before....but he was also highly thought of.

HIRE KEENAN! BRING BACK RON WILSON!!!

Hindsight my friend.

I would love to have Stasny... .but we would still end up with the same issue of not having room for Chucky at the center position.

He was very solid in the playoffs for them again. I don't think they really care how he does in the regular season as long as he continues to step up when the checking get tighter and there is more on the line.
