I agree but if it did not hurt sabres I would be all for it. The product we put on the ice last year was barely an nhl team
- hafgod

It'll barely be an NHL team this year, IMO.

I would like to see a few more "small" trades

the kings trade was murray's first stamping of his name on the team

I want to see a few more of them

- homiedclown

I want a big one..
The LA trade was small for two guys that are years away.
I want an NHL trade a wow I just got Chris Drury trade

Would work if they did away with NTC.

Moulson does, he enjoyed his time here and should be welcomed back.

Yup. At some point, there are options for getting players here that don't really have a choice.

Besides, you don't build a team via FA anyway. Or at least, not if you actually want to be successful.

- HonkFortheGoose

this

ufa's and deadline trades only polish off a finished product

draft, winning trades, scouting, developing players win a cup

side note, why did the kings beat the hawks this post season?
they had the depth for all 4 lines, and a plan, where the hawks went after cast offs from failing teams to plug the final roster spots

I was never a fan of NTC

the nucks are held at gun point for handing them out like they were pieces of candy over the last few seasons

If the Sabres sign Moulson, the team should have a special promotion. Every time he scores at a home game, the Sabres give away a case of Molson to a random fan.

staff, hoff, stewart, and maybe myers (doubt it)

w/o losing picks or prospects, I do not see a wow trade happening

Well its finally here...the only thing I don't want to come away with was the we were open to make a deal but nobody would give up what we wanted speech that was typical Darcy talk.

I expect a trade or two I don't know if it will be a major deal but I am excited at the possibility that it could happen!

those who bank on the future being in the 2015 draft will be disappointed unless the pick comes from long island

Not really. In fact it could help the Sabres.

Next year from what was being reported if you finish last the highest you pick is 2. The major change is just changing the percentages and if the Islanders finish say in the 8 spot their odds would be better than what the 8 spot was this year. So really it COULD be a blessing in disguise.

if murray got spezza and kessler and gave up hoff, foligno, staff, a few picks and prospects (not our first or islanders first) what would your thoughts be moving forward?

I don't think so. The majority of the pieces are already in place. This years draft and next years will be the final pieces that we need. And we have 3 first rounders next year already. That doesn't even include what we could get during this season.

All Murray really needs to do is make a few shrewd trades (even Darcy could do that) and bring in one or 2 vet guys.

I think we're in a good place, whether or not they change the draft lottery for next year.

I'm not stripes, but all of a sudden we have a 2-year window to try and win a cup. Which we won't.

I'd feel like last year was for nothing, and we might as well have held on to Miller and Vanek.

Nope me either, if I have to drink a mainstream beer ill go bud heavy or labatt. Usually won't though. Sierra Nevada, Dogfish, and Anchor Brewing make some fantastic stuff.

For the 4th, I recommend picking up a sixer of Anchor Liberty Ale. Tastes like freedom.
