I was a long time droid user and as of last year I switched over to an iPhone. I think droids have more power and capability and a bigger screen but iPhones are just easier to use.

This is absolutely about punishing the Sabres for what they did last season, even though our entire fanbase is behind them. I wonder if Pat LaFontaine had anything to do with this.

Nah, punishing would be taking away our pick outright, this is just a league trying to crack down on tanking.

The big changes don't even come into place until after the McDavid draft anyways (at least according to TSN)

It sounds like at least the first 2 picks next year go up for lottery.

"The league has proposed smoothing or compressing the odds among the 14 non-playoff teams for the 2015 draft and then increasing the number of selections determined by the lottery in 2016."

Would not shock me a bit if we lose out next year, that's why when people mention McDavid they are getting to far ahead of themselves. Nothing is set that we get him and if the draft does change next year, Murray should start moving in another direction.

haha yeah I read it a little more closely, so will have an even lesser chance at McDavid

Draft is still far and away the best place to acquire top end talent even with the suggested changes. I agree on the McDavid bit though, I'm sure Murray has a plan that doesn't involve us drafting 1st overall.

Other way of looking at it is that we no longer really need to tank to have a shot at him. If the plan is to compress and smooth it out, the difference percentage wise between 1 and 4 may no longer be as significant, just a thought.

I hate that 24 hours before the biggest draft pick for this team in the last decade we're talking about lottery odds next year.

Which is why he needs to get as much high end talent as he can in this draft, and move back into the first at least once, if not twice. Quality over quantity.

Dreger: #Coyotes definitely willing to part ways w/ Keith Yandle. #RedWings have interest, but are more interested in Tyler Myers. #Sabres

True, we wouldn't have to worry about signing Moulson, and getting too much better

IMO if the draft changes do happen, I would look to keep Myers.

Confirmed by Ted Black that next year will be percentage changes, 2016 will be the actually addition of the separate lottery and rolling system.

Deep breath everyone

Agreed, 4 1st round picks sounds more like a Philly thing
