What is really going to make this a hard process is what happens when Grigorenko finally develops...

Where does he fit in at center...

McDavid, Reinhart, Grigo, Girgensons, Ennis, Hodge, and Larsson.

- JVince11

A handful of those guys will end up at wing. It's just how it works. But the good teams usually have an overabundance of guys that can play in the middle. Carter is technically a center, but he's had his most success on the wing. Patrick Sharp is a center, but usually is on the wing in Chicago.

So Regehr only played 8 games in the entire LAK's longest NHL playoffs in history run...

We took advantage of everybody in trades these last 2 years. We better get good cause nobody is going to want trade with us for a log time.

I'll go back to a Murray quote, of sorts.

To trade well, you need to draft well.

Drafted well?? Check.

- TheSabresTaco

Murray also said that you can only have so much youth.. you need to have NHL caliber guys and vets to build around.

Just to add to the mix... Armia, Fasching, Deslauriers, Carrier, Compher, and Baptiste could make an impact in the next 2 years.

I'd say the only trade that looks like we really lost at this time was the Sekera trade... he was GREAT for Carolina this year.. McBain sucked but the prospect looks to be good years down the road.

yeah I wouldn't put a verdict on that trade until like 2020 when we know Compher's true value.

I know this but I was just saying... who stays at center and who goes to wing.

How many of those guys could be top 6.. or top line wingers or centers.. that is the big bubble that we get to watch over the next 2-4 years.

If I had to guess...

Moulson - McDavid - Hodge
Armia - Reinhart - Staff/Stewart/Fasching
Grigo - Girgensons - Staff/Stewart/Fasching

I would imagine Ennis gets traded before Hodge.. I feel like Ennis is at his best while Hodge is still growing especially now at the wing.

Armia and Grigo are the wild cards here.. they are both top 6 talent but who becomes top line is the big question.

I would also guess we trade Ehrhoff this year but what we get back is up in the air.. could be just a mid-late round pick in this year's draft.

Even though he was waived (& not traded), the loss of Gerbe looks like a hasty move as well.

Especially when we had a guy like Leino go 4 the goose egg.

What are the opinions of Brett Connelly? 22 years old, 6'3 210 Top 10 pick in his draft. He is the age TM talks about. If he is an option, what would Tampa want for him? What about him and their 1st? Erhoff St Louis 1st and one of 2nds?

Can you throw in a few Tragically Hip clips and maybe a Rush video once in a while?!?! Going from Garp to Boos...errrrr Michael has been great but I need to be weaned off a bit slower. If not the vid clips maybe a couple misspellings would help ease me in, thanks.

I think they send Reinhart back , sign a free agent for 3c and move Girgensons up to 2C . Just to help reach cap floor . I do see Girgensons being 3C in the future and Reinhart as 2C when we are done here

Ehrhoff, 2015 St Louis 1st, 2014 39th overall

for

Brett Connolly, 19th overall?

Connolly has disappointed as a high draft pick so far. He's having trouble beating out the likes of Johnson and Palat and Filpulla. I don't know if it would be wise to pick up a mediocre Luke Adam type.

Losing Gerbe is irrelevant.

Sekera on the other hand.

They actually did that as a favor to him. I think he could have been productive here as well, but they didn't feel that he should be in the top 6. Really, he's got skill, but he needs to be with other skilled players and they weren't willing to give him that here.

Hi guys, when embedding vids, please keep it to max width = 420

But seriously, keeps the page borders from getting messed up.

I know. That's what I meant by a high draft pick.

The proposed offer was Connolly and the 2014 19th overall.

I definitely see Grigorenko slotting in as a Left Wing.

What is the concensus here of people's opinion on our D corps in terms of young pups for next year??

I think that Pysyk and Ruhwedel are shoe-ins...

Risto, McCabe, and Zads are question marks if they'll be up... I think that order is the liklihood that they are in Buffalo too.
