I heard they're thinking about going to a rolling 3 year system (the way they did it during the 05 lockout).

I say bring it asap, that system would benefit us. Horrendous last year and no playoffs in the last 3 years, we'd be at the top of the lottery


P.S does anyone know when they plan on bringing it to place? I know Murray said it won't be next year but does that mean 2016 and onwards or later?

He is the only one that has tweeted about it today, but I would like it to be 2016 just so if the Sabres finish last the worst they pick is 2nd again. If they do the rolling 3 year thing they might do it for each pick which hurts our chances

The team with the worst record has a chance to fall all the way to 5. This won't benefit us. And my guess, mind you its just my guess, that the teams with the best odds to land first will bot be as high as 25%.

Not quite.

Like Iamnotatroll just mentioned, the version they brought up on fan 590 was that with the 3 year rolling system the teams that were the worst during that stretch get put into there own separate lottery ranging anywhere from 1-5, it won't be a straight draw like it was during the crosby draft.
