Having the chance to play with St. Louis could be very enticing. If a team can guarantee team basically a second line center role, he is waving.

Definitely. Possibly the Panthers as well. But Nashville has to be out front. |

i just cant see how taking on that contract could be a positive move for a team. unless like people have suggested, you just want to hit the cap floor. and his real life dollars are favorable to that end. |

i agree the downside of having to acquire both of those guys through assets. if their teams are expecting a ransom, id back away from the table for sure. but to me at least, both of those players are still significantly better than vinny all things considered. - stayinthefnnet
No doubt Kesler and Spezza are much better. However, they'll be expected to play larger roles on their new teams to justify such an investment in relation to the assets traded and contract extension commitment. Buying Vinny with a lower cap hit comes with the expectation of less responsibilities.
The Flyers won't get much for him, but that is definitely okay.

I hear Josi's contract is pretty egregious
I mean you never know. Maybe they want offense that badly? |

even if all the team had to give up was a 7th rounder and a puck, if youre a team that is actually cap cognizant and not just trying to reach the floor, i just cant see how it isnt a detriment. in the best case scenario, its still a big, big risk.

Sorry, Pens fan, you just have to come to terms that the Flyers are moving Vinny and getting some salary cap relief from the transaction or reduction in the amount of years that cap number will count.

not bad at all. phenomenal actually. you better have to give up something more than b schenn though.
if thats the crew you ahve though, i move up simmonds and create the checkers line and have jake on the second - stayinthefnnet
I agree.
That being said, let's all relax. Kane is not a Flyer. |

I would be very surprised if they go high ticket at forward. However, a guy like Kane is such a unique talent, that this roster doesn't have on right now. I still think there will be major remodeling on the blueline, really have no idea where he goes.

i think hexy understands the importance of the blueline. and would definitely rather aim his efforts there rather than the forwards. the flyers can score. however, there really arent many appealing options to sign. and trading for one and keeping the young core together are very much conflicting ideals |

The only way they deal B. Schenn if they project Laughton to be that pesky, checking center on the third line over the next two years. In general, I do expect some fireworks throughout the league at the draft.

It'd be kind of a low budget show without fireworks. |

hopefully there are some good trades, because free agency is kind of mundane anymore.
i think laughton can do that fine. schenn is a decent player, but i still think the ultimate answer should try to package him for a defender. |
