Would be great to have a gritty Russian on the roster. I do like his overall game.

i'll be shocked if they draft a russian, particularly in the first round.

I'd be mildly surprised, but Barbashev is a Flyers type guy. Works his tail off, has some grit...absolutely not a protypical Russian

Think someone said it earlier on here but Hartsy is quickly going to be despised in Philly.....He wasnt that thrilled to be traded so I expect that to show every bit when he plays the Flyers.

Looks like Vinny is going to get moved with the agent having permission to seek a deal. It is going to be interesting to see how much salary they have to eat. If its a crappy contract for crappy contract, I wonder if Vinny for Stalberg would work with the Flyers eating the difference in salary cap hit. The Flyers gain with Stalberg's contract being shorter.

I think VL move would be strictly salary dump if they can find someone to take the contract

I think it may involve taking a bad contract back also. I'm not sure eating some of the contract is going to be enough.

I like Stalberg. great speed, and size. Reminds me of Jake Voracek in that regard. Problem with Stalberg is his shot.... it has not been very good his entire career.

Then i dont see a trade happening then, I would rather keep Vinny then take on another bloated contract. There are plenty of teams that would take VL, its only a question of him waiving his NMC for that team.

I look at this way, Spezza and Kessler is going to cost a team significant assets. Both are going to have to be resigned to larger cap hits probably within the next two years on multi-year deals. Sure, someone could sign Richards and only cost money.

However, if you are going to sign a veteran centerman for pretty much the same cap hit. Would you rather have a small, slow center? Or a big, slow center? I think it boil down to being that simple.

Lecavalier will be gone, it's rare a GM tells the agent to find a trade and the dude ends up staying. There's a mutual feeling of disenchantment here, player and team both want to go separate ways.

I do expect it being a case where the Flyers either have to eat money or take a contract back, and as long as the contract isn't as long or expensive as Vinny's, or if it's simply a guy that fits better, then it'll happen.

i agree the downside of having to acquire both of those guys through assets. if their teams are expecting a ransom, id back away from the table for sure. but to me at least, both of those players are still significantly better than vinny all things considered.

It would be interesting if Vinny would get traded to the Rangers.
