I'd be very happy with adding Pouliot and Boyle, but to make that happen they have to be able to move VL without eating any salary.
- BiggE

I am sure you are right VL would have to be moved. But even a player like Grossman and his 3.5M. Can you move him and replace him was a player like Clayton Stoner from the Wild. He is a big body who can play 5-6 and could be probably had for a modest raise...2-2.5M

But, but, but..... All the other teams passed on Subban too....

Besides, Marshall is a much better dancer than Subban.

What a tool shed this guy is....

In return for the #1 pick, Florida would most likely be asking for Couturier, a top prospect and our pick at 17. It ain't gonna happen.

Before we really start digging into hockey, anyone think the Sixers are pulling a major league? Not being fan friendly and scaring off fans so they can move the team to jersey and with his Devils?

Heck no.... Once they sign Lebron, and draft Parker or Wiggins, they are headed in the right direction.

From a financial standpoint that would be suicide. They would be going from a frontrunner market (where at least they would make money if they are winning) to a market in direct competition with two other franchises and NO chance for attendance.

The opening day lines would look more like this, for the record

Fleischman-Giroux-Voracek
Umberger-Schenn-Simmonds
Raffl-Couturier-Read
Bellemare-Laughton-Rinaldo/McGinn/Akeson/Alderson

- mochoson

That sounds...really worrisome. You do realize Fleischman had a whopping 8 goals last year, right? Despite being on a piss poor Florida team, there's no way he should be on the top line. If it came to that, I'd rather put Umberger on that line.

All I know is the Sixers better not have just tanked a season to draft Greg Oden Jr. or Crocodile Dundee.

I don't follow basketball much, but would 3 and 10 get them 2?

Philadelphia is a far more desirable market than North Jersey (which couldn't keep the last basketball team it had) and I doubt moving the franchise would ever get league approval (which it would likely have to do).

And even if Harris somehow got league approval to move the Sixers, Philadelphia would get another NBA franchise in short order.

From what I have read the top 3 are pretty much interchangeable.

Ok. JUst find it funny.
1.They tank to get number 1 picvk.
2. Lottery says FU to tank and now they pick three.
3. Karma says "hahaha to the tank", Embied gets hurt so now you probably lose out on Wiggins who is the reason you tanked.

I know a lot of people think they will take Embied anyways just funny how the tank was all about wiggins and all these things happen so you don't get him

Frankly, I still don't quite understand why folks think big time professional sports franchises work in North Jersey and they brand the team "New Jersey".

No one south of Trenton gives a (frank) about the Devils and no one cared when the Nets were around.

Right...but one of the 3 is now crippled or mildly hurt or something (maybe he has leg cramps???), so the top 2 is apparently where you really wanna be.

If they can move VL, here is my roster:
Vrbata ($3.5m) / Giroux ($8.275m) / Voracek ($4.250m)
Umberger ($4.600m) / Schenn ($2.500m) / Simmonds ($3.975m)
Raffl ($1.100m) / Couturier ($1.750m) / Read ($3.625m)
Bellemare ($0.600m) / Hall ($0.600m) / McGinn ($0.732m)

Rinaldo ($0.750m) / Akeson ($0.715m)

DEFENSEMEN
Streit ($5.250m) / Coburn ($4.500m)
Schenn ($3.600m) / MacDonald ($5.000m)
Timonen ($2.000m) / Grossmann ($3.500m)

GOALTENDERS
Steve Mason ($4.100m)
Ray Emery ($1.650m)

LTIR
Chris Pronger ($4.941m)

RETAINED SALARIES (1.58% of upper limit)
Vincent Lecavalier ($1.125m—25.00%)
BONUS OVERAGE
$345,000

I don't play Akeson unless I can get him minutes on a line that is there to score.
Rosehill has go to someplace, but he in inconsequential at this point.
Back up goalie just can't cost more than Ray did.

Yeah but he had some good yers before In Washington and Colarodo and his first in FLA. I like him because he could be a one year stop gap on wing and the money is equall so you might not have to eat any, maybe.

No one in North Jersey cares about the Giants either. Rumor is they are headed to Podunk Idaho.

Yes...that said, he had 8 goals last year and 12 the year before. He should not be the guy you're counting on for the first line winger.

The NFL is an obvious exception.

They could field a team in Podunk, Idaho and even if no one came, it would still make money because of the NFL TV contract.

I don't know if embiid throws that big of a wrench into hinkies plan

If he's healthy. Parker is there for the sixers. Who I don't want. And the sixers have shown no interest.

Now they lose trade value at #3 I think for sure

But their best bet will prob be to trade down. If its the celtics at 6. Maybe they can pry the 6 and 17 from Boston and their first next year for #3, Thad, and a 2nd

My thinking is that since Harris owns the Devils and the building he could move team there. Then he isn't paying to play in wells fargo center. Also I have a feeling in a couple years he will flip the team and sell it. Now he can sell the Devils, Sixers and building and make MONEY compared to what he paid to get them.
