I think Stastny will be reupped with Colorado. Richards hurt his play with the ECF/SCF performance. Spezza and Kesler will be much, MUCH harder to acquire than Vinny.

And with the way things have been going so far the higher level FA forwards could be looking for big deals which could make Vinny more attractive to other teams

Exactly. Worst that could happen is we keep a 20-goal scorer on the roster.

Maybe, it just seems that outside of the PP, it's tough to find wingers that mesh well with him and he's a defensive liability as well. Without making any changes, I guess I would try the following lines. I figure to be successful, VL needs wingers that can both carry the puck and feed him the puck where he likes it.

If we keep him, I'd swap Read and Simmonds. I'd also switch Raffl and Akeson. Only because I'm not changing up what (to me) makes sense for one player. Yes, that 2nd line could be a liability, but they'd also be fun to watch in the zone.

Eh not considering most of those guys are going to comand 5+ mill and several years....Legwant and Richards may be the only bargains there even Bolland is said to be wanting at least 5 a year.

I'm kind of 50-50 with it. I think he could have a bounce back season offensively if they put him at 2C and leave him there but his style doesn't fit with what Hexy is trying to build. So I'm fine either way.

I'm just afraid of watching that line getting pinned in our zone. I'd rather surround VL with speed and good 2 way players like Read and Raffl. Couturier isn't going to play with Read for the next 15 years, and I think he could mesh well with Simmonds and Umberger. That's a big line that has a bit of everything on it. Umberger and Simmonds have decent speed, Umberger and Couturier are good defensively, all 3 can cycle and all 3 can put the puck in the net.

That's my predicted line up too. Vinnie maybe more valuable next year as he will be owed something like 10.5 mill over 3 years. Plus there is nothing out there in FA that is going to put up around 20 goals and have a okay contract cap and year wise.

Not to be a total brag, but she's had trouble taking me from day 1. So after 8 weeks of not being allowed (and how sore she still was), she was ill prepared to start again.
