Maybe. But on the FLYERS he is. And they don't have anyone that does what he does at this time.


I know gagner is 24 but Laughton is what 19, 20. I don't see us winning the cup next year right now so I would want to keep my youth. Also I see Laughton as one of those players that fits into what Berubes system is about. Skating, agressck support two way team.

You mean the guy MacTavish was salivating over and desperatley trying to get at last years draft and Homer refused to part with has no value to Edmonton? That guy? They just signed Nikita Nikitin for 4.5 mil, trust me, Coburn has TONS of value in Edmonton. But If I'm giving that kind of overpayment, I'd be sending them South for Florida's pick.

No, but he was never drafted. You also forget that after college you don't go back into the draft, you become a free agent.

Lecavalier is owed a 2M bonus this July 1st. Everyone knows we want to move him and Hextall is somewhat handcuffed being at the cap ceiling already. Don't know if the current CBA allows a team to pay the bonus to a roster player prior the bonus date (July 1st) and trade him right after. Basically we pay the bonus before it's due, the new team acquires Lecavalier saving a cash payment (not the cap hit) giving Hextall liberty to make possible moves.
