Realisticly, the Canucks need a couple of seasons to catch up to the likes of the Ducks and LA. So really it's not as big a deal because in a couple of seasons, it will be Vancouvers time and Kesler will be beat up, past his prime and signed in his home state by then. Meanwhile, Reinhardt, Horvat, Kassian, Shinkarik, Virtanen, Corrado, Gaunce, Jensen will all be coming along nicely in the Canucks line up. Benning will be adding the necessary FA's to compliment our young line up. We will still have a few good mentors from this core and I'm sure the Ducks will be reminded of the Kesler trade often enough as the guard in the division shifts to BC. - boonerbuck
Even more realistically, Kesler will get injured and we'll only face him once a season. |

Agreed, at number 6 the Canucks will get a quality player. It's not worth moving up a few spots (and having to lose some of your quality assets to do so) where the talent levels/quality of the players ahead of whomever we draft aren't going to be that much more significant. As I touched on, the more I've read and researched the top players in this year's draft (and in turn reassessed some of the expectations) the excitement (i.e. hype) level has dropped off somewhat. Yes, there are some very good players but I can't really see anyone in particular that stands head and shoulders above the rest of the class. - Zogg
Is will be ok with whatever the Canucks decide to do. They know the players involved a lot more that I do. |

I think Kesler wants out because we are signing Wilie Mitchell? - VANTEL
No Kesler wants out because his attitude has worn thin in the locker room. It doesn't matter how good you are if you start turning on the other leaders in the room and being a d!ck its time to move on. |

I truly only have a gauge on the western teams as far as juniors go the east is not my strong suit. Knowing the W is where I'm confident with. |

Oh I got it. Just irritable with the Kesler issue. To much hersey. |

@Thunder. I think he is a knob . I want the best for the team and if it means not moving him until the right deal is there I will wait. I trust Benning. |

How about a three-way with Florida and Chicago to get Kes to Chicago and the number one to Vancouver and maybe Sharp to Florida and then a shuffle of some picks and prospects. |

Great player but the guy is a knob. To much time in one place is a bad thing for a guy like that and is even worse for a team. We will see a move before or at the draft. I trust Benning as well. Good moves since scrotee has left and Linden coming in. I am quite positive with how the off season has played out thus far. |

We now know what will happen
@rdcloutier: #Canucks at six will take Dal Colle. #Hurricanes will take Ritchie at seven. Leafs will trade pick to #Sharks.
@rdcloutier: #Jets at 9 will take Ehlers. #Ducks at 10 will deal pick to the #Canucks for Kesler. |

Mitchell and Kes got into a fight at practice. - VANTEL
I don't think these types of things are any sort of issue long-term. How many times have there been fights at practices?it would be more surprising if there weren't any.
It's simply the nature of the sport and even the practice drills themselves - i.e. one on one board/cycle drills, tough dump and chase and retreat races, strength and power drills, serve to amp up the competition level, which really gives the manager/coach a better analysis of what a player might look and act like in more 'game-like' situations. |
