Its a good thought but how many times has a player asked to be traded and then the team not trade him. It rarely happens, I think the Canucks take the best offer and move on. It's too risky not trading him as he could get injured in game 1 and then they get no where near what they may have got. |

On the Keslord situation though, do you really think that Benning will trade him to Anaheim and have the real possibility of him burning the Canucks for the next few years in the same division. At least with Chicago , the only real possibility of that happening would be the playoffs. I can look at it impartially even though I am a Hawk fan and I think the Canucks take the best deal regardless of where it is. - HawkfaninBC
Realisticly, the Canucks need a couple of seasons to catch up to the likes of the Ducks and LA. So really it's not as big a deal because in a couple of seasons, it will be Vancouvers time and Kesler will be beat up, past his prime and signed in his home state by then. Meanwhile, Reinhardt, Horvat, Kassian, Shinkarik, Virtanen, Corrado, Gaunce, Jensen will all be coming along nicely in the Canucks line up. Benning will be adding the necessary FA's to compliment our young line up. We will still have a few good mentors from this core and I'm sure the Ducks will be reminded of the Kesler trade often enough as the guard in the division shifts to BC. |

That's why I'd bench him if he doesn't expand his list. |

Everyone is overhyping Reinhardt. He's is not my 1st overall. If you have a chance to pick him at 3rd, 4th or 5th you move up. You don't move up to first or second and take Reinhardt. |

My worry is that this is just a marketing stunt. The three amigos aren't like the old guard as they are western boys picking one of our own. |

Lebron Wade and that useless guy from TO did it. Suter Parise did it .Stars do it all the time to give themselves the best chance of winning. Ana will be the new Boston Celtics. |

For Kane, the best chance of winning is to stay I'm Chicago. The Kane-Kes love runs deeper. |

I don't think so Vantel , Kane is very happy in Chicago . The Hawks will get an acceptable centre for him to play with if not Kesler, he wants to win Cups and Chicago is as good a bet as anywhere. Kane is easily one of the top 10 players in the league and the Hawks will do whatever it takes to keep him as would the Canucks if he played here. |

Yes yes and everyone should go by your opinion because Draisaitl is the unparalleled first overall. |

Not really .if all of a suddenly Ana start winning cups after they come on board they will get most of the credit seeing Perry and Getz have only done it once eons ago |

Maybe Kesler waits a year and expands his list to Buffalo and Kane follows. Apparently, Kane would like to play there as well |

I think when you win it doesn't matter. If he is that concerned with being the top dog on a team then he should go to Buffalo . He could evolve into one of those many players who put up the great stats and never win anything. Nobody ever remembers who they were or what they accomplished. Of course the Hawks would trade him prior to letting him walk and would get a King's ransom in return. I really do believe it's a mute point though as I'm pretty sure he will stay in Chicago. |

Agreed, at number 6 the Canucks will get a quality player. It's not worth moving up a few spots (and having to lose some of your quality assets to do so) where the talent levels/quality of the players ahead of whomever we draft aren't going to be that much more significant. As I touched on, the more I've read and researched the top players in this year's draft (and in turn reassessed some of the expectations) the excitement (i.e. hype) level has dropped off somewhat. Yes, there are some very good players but I can't really see anyone in particular that stands head and shoulders above the rest of the class. |

I think Kesler wants out because we are signing Wilie Mitchell? |
