- Nucker101

Yes. Contracts that the league approved at the time, but then said they were cap circumvention. Gotta love the NHL.

#Canucks have called 2 big names UFA's today - Dave Bolland and Ryan Miller.

Sources tell me, Miller would have no issues playing in Vancouver.

Calling is one thing... hanging up when you hear their contract demands is the more important thing

The cap hit and term would have to be less than what most are projecting for me to approve that. I have a feeling this is definitely going to be more of a "re-tool" than a full rebuild.

Bolland as 2LC at 5 per over 6 years and Miller making like 6 million over 6 years.....(frank)

I'm fine with dbags, but those 2 are not good fits for the contracts they'll demand and likely eventually get.

Benning must have a pretty good ball park figure of what he thinks the contract demand will look like though.

The #Canucks also playing phone tag with Jonas Hiller's agent - but he also represents Deryk Engelland and Joe Vitale.

Edit: At least Benning is not just sitting around killing time.

Hiller makes more sense even though I personally would let both young goalies get a chance this season.

Please God, let Ryan Miller sign somewhere else. I won't be able to handling him throwing everybody under the bus in every post game interview

You still do your due diligence and confirm. I'd be upset if Benning wasn't calling a lot of the bigger name free agents to determine A) their interest in coming to Van, and B) How much it would cost.

Once he figures that stuff out, he can decide if there is a fit or not.

I wouldn't mind a veteran back there to help calm things down. I really like Lack and Markstrom has a lot of potential. The 2 of them together have very limited NHL experience. If it starts to go sideways, it could be a disaster.

If they're hell bent on signing a proven veteran, I'm hoping it's Hiller.

Once you sign Hiller or Miller, Markstrom has to get traded or you'll lose him for nothing through waivers(I assume he'll get claimed, and knowing our history he'll go on to be a starter in this league).

I'd rather hear about him spending his time figuring out how to maximize our draft haul... No thanks to Miller/Hiller... I'll take Bolland as a 3LC but then he's gotta go get us Draisaitl for 2LC (while keeping the 6th pick to take Ehlers).

Bolland as a 3LC is fine, but seeing that tweet about he's only interested if Kesler is gone tells me he wants a 2C job along with the pay that comes with it.

I agree with your stance on the goalies, but if we have to pick one it's Hiller for me simple because he'll demands will be lower.

Would prefer we don't go get a goalie, hiller if we do, Miller is not what we need. Guessing if that is the case they really want to make the playoffs but f that. That's not how we should be going about things. Miller will want an absorbent amount. No clue what hiller will want.
