Haha, Bolland calling the shots now. If I was Benning, I'd tell him to mind his own sh!t.
- moondawg

Don't forget Benning was close up and personal when Bolland drove the dagger through his and Boston's heart last year.

The contract being the biggest one.

I know secretly Vantel wants a Marchand-Bolland-Burrows line though.

Well of course - those two additions may make the twins think twice about staying in Van.

Sestito-Lain-Thornton on the 4th and we're set to make a cup run!

There are some players I hate but secretly love to see in our uniform. Thornton is not one of those. I would lie to see him in Calgary where we could see him wallow in his career choices more often on a meaningless team.

Apologies for that. Ran out of characters in my headline space so I had to use the shorter form. That's the only reason, I swear!

Gaborik at 4.9 million for 7 years seems reasonable. Way better than that terrible Callaghan contract.

LA kings stay winning it seems.

The Leaf fans seem sane compared to that Hawk thread.

Their entire fan base has only been watching hockey since 2010, so what do you expect.

Kings haven't used a compliance buyout yet. Maybe they're counting on using one on him. Although if the cap keeps going up it might be OK. Gaborik is a good skater, that may make him have staying power even in his late 30's. Look at Martin St.Louis. Canucks are so far from being able to compete with the Kings.

Compliance buyouts can only be used last year or this year, if they use one it will be for Richards.

In 6 years we should be ripe for another lock out and new CBA with a whole new round of compliance buy outs handed out!

They won't be using one this year according to Lombardi himself. The Kings will have some issues in 3-4 years IMO.

But they already have 2 cups so who really gives a (frank).

Richards could probably be traded.

It's far more important to get him at a decent AAV for the next few years than it is to maybe have to eat a few years at the end. ( If it comes to that )

They could very easily trade him. The Leafs would take him in a second, but the kings don't want to mess up the Carter Richards Bromance.

It doesn't matter, he is going to spend 3/4 of the contract on LTIR anyways.

Take it from someone who waited 33yrs for one of his teams to win a GD championship... The only championship that matters is the next one (people in Edmonton & San Francisco may disagree haha). The Super Bowl was amazing, but I'm already over it & focused on next season. If the Seahawks don't repeat, I won't be basking in the glory of SBXLVIII... I'll be pissed about how we took a step backwards. Selling out to win 1 championship is stupid... Set your franchise up to "win forever".

Also, apparently no recapture for early retirements on contracts entered in this CBA.

LOL, sure they say that now... But apparently they can change their mind at the next CBA negotiation.

That was the compromise for the 7/8 year term limits.
