I think Frenchie gave you a boner.

That would be awesome if that could happen then save the prospects

29th in 2014

To Florida
6th 2014
Sharp

Chicago

So we give up #6, Kesler, Corrado for #1 + #29? Don't want to hit this one too hard bro but are you friggin' insane?

P.S. it's not out of the realm of possibilities, though. I was on a couple of teams where the chemistry was actually affected because two individuals absolutely hated each other (and yes, got into a couple of fights during practice). That said, when the puck dropped, all that was forgotten and everyone suddenly turned into love-in mode

What is the worst that can happen if he doesn't get traded.....we get to keep one of the best 2 way forwards in the game today until he expands his list
- JMD007

Well, he could be a cancer in the dressing room. Ruin the development of the few good prospects we actually have. Force a trade at an inopportune time where we receive even less in return than has already been offered. Or he could sit / get benched.

Or he could just get hurt and we end up with nothing...

I figured you didn't add up the math.

3 way trades are a pipe dream anyway. Ask your self how often they happen and then have an honest look at how hard it's getting just to make a single trade in the NHL these days.

Totally off topic, but how pissed do you think Toronto is seeing Rask win the Vezina tonight. At least they got Raycroft

I read all the comments from this morning and it is split on whether to trade up or not. IMO if we get NYI 5 th I say if it costs Tanev Shink and 6 th then go ahead and do it.

Van. Reinhart
Buf . Bennett
EDM . Ekblad
CGY. MDC or Draisaitl
Van. MDC or Draisaitl

For the next decade we would have Reinhart MDC or Draisaitl and Horvat as our centres. Plus Kassian and Jensen and if we trade one more D then our forwards are set .

Tanev and shink to trade up one spot??!

I think he will trade him to the best offer regardless of location. It's not about what Kesler will do it is about our product we put on the ice.We need to dress our best team and not worry about other teams.

I think this is quite possibly the smartest thing I have heard (read) you say and I can't believe you are not an NHL GM by now.

Hopefully Kesler won't pull an Iggy, and if he does I'd tell him he isn't getting moved period.
- golfingsince

Then he plays like sh!t for 2 seasons and walks away and the Canucks get nuttin'.

I wanted to post this earlier but unfortunately didn't have time.

Some guy called the team today and had a unique solution for the Kesler problem.

Call up Buffalo and negotiate a package that includes the 2nd overall with prospects.

Trade them the 6th and waive Kesler.

Trade would never be approved by the league. That is getting around the CBA (not respecting a players NTC) and would likely result in the loss of a draft pick as a penalty.

What do you think?

Hawks get:
Kesler and maybe a draft pick(2nd-4th round hopefully in next years draft) or a prospect

Canucks get:

Leddy or Bickell

and

Nordstrom or Morin or Danault or McNeill or Clendening

and

2014 1st round pick

so we'll get the 27th pick in a weaker draft and you want a 35-45 range pick in a better draft? You'll also throw in a B level prospect and a either a Dman that's had his share of struggles or a salary dump.

What's not to like?

Not saying it has to be a 2nd round pick, could be a c level prospect, 4th round pick, or nothing depending on which prospect decide to take.

If you take Leddy and one of the other prospects, that gives you 2 young players, one is NHL ready, others are close with upside (Danault/McNeil), and others should be NHL ready (Clendening/Nordstrom/Morin). Plus y get a first round pick.

You have to admit I helped keep the dog days interesting . I have seen enough drafts to know very little movement seldom happens but I sparked conversation. Eat your heart out Esplen.
