that's exactly what they are trying to develop in him. By all accounts his defense and PK ability is already there. He's not going to become that top6 PF, but there is still hope that he can still turn out to be a strong defensive player that will punish players.

They aren't only looking for size. The consensus is that these players also have skill...or they would not be first rounders. Sometimes you get a lucic or getzlaf etc sometimes you don't. In todays game, you need size and you cant teach size.

if they didn't pick him, some other team would have. The leafs problem is more with developing players. It takes time. Some don't work, some do.

they sure seem to make a lot...but I think they are finally doing it right. Developing slowly through the Marlies. They are playing in a winning culture....maybe some day it will translate to the nhl

And he's got good size, not a monster like Ritchie but still above average.
