i will wake up on july 2nd-3rd...not female dog before it. sorry.

to sum up this convo...id say when lombardi came to the kings in 06, the kings organization was equivalent to where the islanders where starting the 2012-13 season.

JT wasnt even drafted till 09...so who in the system was comparable to what the kings had in 06 when DL came to town?

a rebuild is a rebuild.......you think guys signed in LA because of the roster? Quick, kopitar, and brown were nothing close to what they are now. Lombardi traded for key elements....snow trades for ufas who wont sign, and has done so since smyth in 2007

im done with you.....your arguments are juvenile.

i dont recall snow and lombardi are comparable; please before anything else, find where i said that.

like i said go back to my comment at 11:18am...whether you or rickyboy acknowledge it, the islanders rebuild is/was MUCH MUCH MUCH more difficult bc he didnt have ANY names to point to while trying to attract free agents/players with movement clauses. ignore it all you want but just like lombardi and snow should be in the same sentence, the kings rebuild and the islanders rebuild shouldnt be in the same sentence as well.

Well that's what you're doing is comparing the two when you make posts like this;

(x10000)

so youre telling me that having a conn smythe winner, a top line winger, a top line center, and a hall of fame defense is irrelevant?

jethro, what were you saying about being objective?

You're comparing them. Saying Lombardi had it all waiting there for him when he took the reigns which is not true btw as I already pointed out.

and this one;

i still dont understand what lombardi has to do with snow...you are holding garth accountable because wang decided on snow?? and didnt lombardi say no to the islanders? how is garth even in this equation. this is a pure wang decision.

as for explaining the kings, i still dont understand how that comes into play but something tells me that if garth came into his position with guys like rob blake, dustin brown, anze kopitar, mike cammelari, jonathan quick, sean avery instead of guys like miro satan, alex yashin, radek martinek, jason blake, okposo, comeau, gervais, dipietro, the organization would be in much better shape than it is today.

So while you're saying you're not comparing them that is in fact what you're doing.

In 2007-2008 garth started his rebuild, and said "be patient", it should take 5 years. 7 years later the isles are drafting in the same spot they did in 2007-2008 at the start of the rebuild.......THINK ABOUT THAT

Lomardi and the kings just signed gaborik to 7 year deal......

Garth and the isles are looking to trade an aging Boyle because he refuses to sign on the forever rebuilding isles

i actually agree with this!!!

i say that the islanders, starting last year, were comparable to what the kings were when they started their rebuild...so at least in my opinion, last year was when you could make a case that lombardi and snow were in similar rebuilding situations.

i agree...this season is time for garth to get a top 4/top6 guy.

Well last season was the time for Snow to make some noise and he didn't. He also kept Capuano on as coach which some argued was due to them making the playoffs. What's the excuse for keeping him on this year? Blame Wang? Only a fool will buy into that one and I know you don't believe it know matter how much a fan of Snow you are.
My point being he had the opportunity last offseason with all eyes on our team making the playoffs. Our team made the cover page of THN proclaiming we were the new kings of New York as a matter of fact. Snow's answer to that? Extending Capuano, acquiring PMB, Peter Regin, and Cal Clutterbuck in a one sided trade(the wrong way). Honestly disgusting borderline negligent what he did/didn't do this past season. If you want to forgive him that's fine but for you to mock people that don't buy into this BS is pretty stupid IMO. There is EVERY reason to be calling out management at this point and very few for Snow fans to hang their hat on. Even if he made some decent moves this offseason(you want to make a bet whether that happens or not?) it doesn't change the way this team is viewed by FA's, players in general, and the entire NHL. Snow is a big reason why this team is viewed the way it is. There is a reason why he is called out constantly. It's not a conspiracy against him it's because he has not done a good job. A rebuild that was over two years ago according to HIM does not excuse that.

Who can blame him? I know I can't. I love this team for reasons unknown to me at this point but if I were a player I'd stay as far away from this steaming pile of shat as I could until Snow and Wang were gone.
