All he said was that they would've liked to have paid a little less in the deal, while his agent wanted a little more. But he said nothing about no liking the player.

All I was talking about was the deal

He's thinking was that MacDonald is more then just an OK defenseman.

I honestly dont think they are even looking for that. The toughest thing for them is where he will want to go and making that deal work.

If the reports are true that Hextall and Vinnys agent have talked then they must be looking at a move. If Vinny wants more minutes then he has to be open to probably a couple of spots. Teams like Nashville, FLA, maybe dallas. Places that he can slide in as a number 2 center.

And I think he would. He is a proud player and the 4rth line is not for him. I can see Nashville. Florida, maybe. Dallas, I don't see. Why can't they just trade him to Montreal for Subban. Aren't trades like that easy?

I've heard Florida mentioned with upshall. Flyers retain salary. Maybe that's possible

For that needs to reach the floor, I would not retain salary. Can't we send cash in the new CBA?

As much as I would love that team, it will not happen. Habs will match any OS you send and I'm not sure he is worth, it. Is it 4 firsts or 2 and some 2nds? I forget. But, I don't think we have the pieces to pull that off.

Maybe we just send Vinny to MTL for Briere. They love Vinny and the size could help down the middle. We get back Briere with one yer left and place him on the wing with Schenn and Simmonds. Then we just find a winger like maybe Pouliot to play with Giroux.

Also we now bring back a fan favorite and friend of Giroux so we keep everyone happy

Anyone know if eckblad is considered generational
- mydoglicks

Not at all.

Like JBo, he's considered advanced for his age, and as solid as solid can be... but the offensive upside is the big question mark. Other question marks are coordination/agility, consistency of physical game.

I don't believe he's anywhere near as complete as Seth Jones.

I don't think we can underestimate the influence Hartnell's lack of discipline had on this trade.

If we take last years numbers and replace Umbergers penalty minutes with Hartnell, that is many many times less shorthanded over the course of a season.

You get this:

RJ: 74 games 18 goals 26 PIM
SH 78 games 20 goals 103 PIM

I think the last stat says it all. Hartnell took a LOT of dumb undisciplined penalties, and it never got better. I think Berube had enough.

- MBFlyerfan

somehow i think the refs will find a way to redistribute those 40 missing penalties around the lineup for us

Something like this is very realistic. I wouldn't be upset with this. I like Pouliot's game, bring him in on a 4 year deal. Mclement a one year stopgap at 4C. Flyers retain 25% of Vinnys deal in Upshall trade.

4th-line, PP specialist, please. I don't think they can appreciably improve at ES if they have to keep hiding their 2nd-line defensively. Vinny, even if he bounces back in production, will always be a liability in the DZ and NZ.
