MJL,

What do you think about Hemsky as a FA. Of course depending if you can move Vinny. With Schenn and Simmonds he could be that playmaking winger for that line. If you can do something like 3 years at say 17mil. Might still have to move a dman but he seems like a winger who could slide into that 2nd line.

Who says we have too? We ship Vinny out, sign Zotto to be the 7th Dman. People already claim he's a 6/7 guy.

Lot's of money to pay a 7th defenseman.

Mixed emotions on that one. Have to think about it.

My hope is Alt is ready to step in and Grossmann is moved. Not that I don't like Gorssmann but like the fact Alt is on an ELC so it saves cap room. And he isn't a small dman. 6'3'' 200. Mobile. Makes a good outlet pass. If we are hoping for a prospect to step in as the d is currently I am hoping he plays his way in.

I've used Timo when making pairings

Timo-Coburn

Honestly, at least "Timo" saves a letter. Typing "Timmo" versus "Kimmo" saves you zilch.

Somewhat agree for long term but from strategic perspective a decent return on Vinny and would be a perfect trade chip at the deadline for someone (contender) looking for an offensive d-man to put them over the hump in the playoffs. Imagine the Hextall love if somehow he spins Vinny into short term rental, then to late first round pick or second rounder at playoff time.

My problem with that is if Alt falters and shows that he needs more AHL seasoning.

His other tweet scares me a bit more:

Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull ยท 9m
Hexy is high on D Anthony DeAngelo, a Sewell, NJ, native expected to go in first round.

2 times intolerance, 3 times abusing officials... please no.

- Tomahawk

Also, I hate having a bunch of defenseman on the roster that I hide from the other team's top lines. DeAngelo seems to be one of those guys. I want guys that are well rounded and do everything well that way we do not always have to play a matchup game and can roll lines.

McKeown is a perfect number three NHL defenseman who can quarterback a powerplay and play on the penalty kill. Skating is the foundation of his game which makes him very versatile.
