they were trying to win, they started the game with 2 strikers, the previous 2 games they started 1, they just sucked

they don't have quality up front. Immobile was shockingly bad. even a Luca Toni-type would have helped. Toni didn't score much in 2006 but he was a threat every game, every time they played the ball to him. Italians had no offensive threat once Balotelli checked out of this tournament, which was when he missed those two great chances against Costa Rica before they scored. |
