I think many of you fail to see the stability and leadership Gorges brings to the lineup. If you trade him you need someone with equivalent experience who can eat up those big minutes. He's a shot blocking machine who is signed for the next 4 seasons at a very affordable cap hit. Thinking Tinordi, Beaulieu or Pateryn are adequate replacements is deluding yourself.

You can't just say he sucks and not elaborate. While I agree he plays too many minutes he's always been a 15-20 point guy while consistently being a plus player. Again, he blocks shots and is an appreciated leader in the room. He knows the city, the fans, the system. Sorry but I just don't see too many positives in replacing Gorges with a youngster.

He wouldn't suck if he'd playing where he should be playing... 3rd line+ PK.

There's a side of me that would rather keep him and trade Emelin... But one thing Emelin does that Gorges doesn't do is hit like a truck.
