their reasons:
- Yakupov is not a lunch pail kinda guy
- Don't want to lose a solid 5th D
- Would prefer Jeff Petry (right-handed D, 6'2") over the 3rd overall pick

I don't see why they gave him that much $$$...he's easily replaceable...case in point, we were able to get Weaver for a bag of pucks...
You should never pay a premium for that type of player...you just find the next guy in line that can o the job for cheaper. That said, I would re-sign weaver and get rid of Gorges...if there's a decent return even better...if not, at least you got rid of his contract and can have the same contribution from weaver at a fraction of the cost.
