They would never do such a thing, plus I don't see Stas going to St. Louis unless it is for $6.6+ Mil with a 5-6year contract. I could not see them wanting to sign him at that high a price for him to more than likely be a 2nd line guy. Plus with the uncertain net, Stastny is ready to win (not saying we will in the next 1-2 years), Elliott and Allen winning a cup though - I don't see it, Allen is good but lacks experience - Elliott was good with Halak but as a starter I don't see his numbers staying solid, I see him trending back down like he did his fourth season in Ottawa...

Statsny stays pat in Colorado on a short term contract is my guess, along with O'Reilly.

It'll be interesting to say the least. The one team I think is a threat would have to be NYR. If Stastny gets an offer from Stl, Minny or Dallas for around 6 to 6.5, the AVS will match it. Then again they could do what Tampa did today with Callahan... they sign Stastny to a 6 year 5.8 per with the first 3 years being a AAV of 6.4 . But who knows

Losing Stastny will suck. And the Cally deal is a good bench mark, I think that could play into the Avs favours.
