he put up 55 and 48 points in dallas
65, 52 and 46 points for the canes

he is a legit second line player, third if rolling three lines

plays 2 way game

sabres made a big mistake not claiming him when he was on waivers

- homiedclown

Well, that's simply hindsight. He did nothing to prove he was useful prior to those waivers in 2009

Fun Fact: Kevin Allen (of USA Today) was just elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

If he's that good, why was he on waivers in the first place? Tells me there's more to that story.

He was. He was a relative unknown at that point still. And we got really lucky that nobody claimed him.

Good for Him . If you look at the stats WHL and OHL are close in their contribution to the NHL . Old hockey myths are that the WHL is the toughest league . Those western kids play a little rougher.

yet the all time pp goal leader, who is 14th all time in goals scored is not in the HOF

the fact that Pat Burns had to die to get it tells you what a sham it can be

He most certainly was on waivers from TBL in 2009 and was subsequently traded to the Canes.

Also in 2013. So yes. In 2013 it was definitely stupid to claim (frank)ing D'Agostini instead.

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Blackhawks’ captain Jonathan Toews said contract talks between he, Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks are ongoing and he expects both will re-sign with the ‘Hawks at the same time, just as they did five years ago.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Don’t be surprised if that’s announced on July 1. That’s the earliest date teams can re-sign next summer’s pending UFAs.

Who knows? Maybe Stan Bowman will get butthurt the way Larry Quinn did because Toews spoke up too early.

I feel like there's not a lot of butthurt in Chicago unless the rumors are true about Kane preferring to not be second fiddle over staying with an epic team.

Months have passed and I still have Miller pretty much pegged to SJ which hasn't changed. The idea behind it is Niemi is moved to a team like WPG.

Sabres room still has Reinhart as top guy on their list. FLA has 4 good offers for trade. VAN, EDM, TOR and WPG in no order. It's all about if they want Ekblad or not obviously.

Ennis deal I spoke of was 15mil/3 years. Ennis camp now wants a 4 year deal at 21.5 million.

Murray has no deal in place yet but had good talks with a few teams about moving into first round. SJ talks were the best. Obviously it depends on whose left but strong feeling is their first bet is Alex Tuch is he's there. If not still make the deal and pick Demko is all scouts agree that hip injuries are behind him.

There has also been thrown around the possibility of getting back into the first round and using that plus another player or pick to move up into top 10 to select Ehlers or Viratanen.

Also had talks with WPG around deal that sends Hodgson+ for Evander Kane

Kane will sign deal on Chicago. A guess is around 8.5 million over 6 years

Mark Recchi was also passed by us when he went on waivers and look at the career he had afterwards.

Beezer, let me preface this by saying I'm only half (frank)ing with you.

Out of everything you just said, which statement would you like to stamp with #CONFIRRMED?

Passing thought: If we Trade Myers to get another top 5 pick, is that going to far as far as parting with Darcy's guys?

If it's the 5th overall for Tyler Myers, it's paying too much. IMO.

Edit. Even 3 and 4 I don't think I'd give him up. I'd still want a decent defensive prospect. He's going to be a top 4 defenseman for the next 12-15 years. That's not something you just give away for an unproven prospect in this particular draft.
