If they can move VL, I'd sign B. Boyle and go with:

Schenn-G-Jake
Read-Couturier-Simmonds
Umberger-Boyle-Akeson or Raffl
Bellemare-Laughton-Raffl or Rinaldo

- BiggE

I like that. That third line would be a great shutdown line and Couter and Brayden get a chance to move up the ladder. Hartnell was getting stale and whenever somebody moves on somebody else gets a chance to shine.

I don't think it's a steal. 40 pts playing in all favorable situations. Big whoop. But I'm glad we signed him. Glad hartnells contract is off the ledger. Glad there's some real philosophical change happening with the flyers front office.

I dig. I really do. Nice work Hexy.

But does he play center? Or first line wing?

Has he played with G ever?

bye bye dumb penalties, bad skating and side show bob hair. I will not be missing you. I was perplexed by us re-signing you after you mediocrely fullfilled the first 5 years of your overblown contract then had a career year and then proceeded to have mediocre production. I know you will fall flat on your face in columbus at least once or twice, you non-skating, overpaid hockey..... man.

I think we are pretty much on the same page then. I just do not want him thinking he a shutdown center primarily. He has the tools to do it at both ends. When his EL contract is up there is no way he is going to play for third line center salary. I think you will see the Flyers give him every opportunity to get it going offensively this year.

If the Flyers do trade Lecavalier & move Brayden Schenn to LW, as Hextall hinted today, then Couturier is the 2C. Ideally, whomever Schenn end up with will be a line that doesn't have to be as sheltered as it was last year in terms of match ups and especially zone starts and the Flyers won't have to use Couturier & Read in such a defense first role

The only thing I have to say is for heaven's sake decide if B Schenn is a Winger or a Center, and leave him there all season.

He may well be that. Who knows? Obviously, given the Hartnell trade, the value is going to be low if he is traded.

Hartnell on his number."I have a couple in mind. I don't want to take Mr. Johansen's No.19. But I'm going to say I want it so he feels bad."

I will miss this Hartnell.

He was a good flyer. I'll miss him a tad bit too. But really this is very good recognition to get out of this contract while they still can. It's Umberger for 3 years but like someone said, he can be bought out his last year with 1.6 on the cap. The cost of undoing bad business

Absolutely agree. Top Line LW or Second line center but stop moving him around.

Our current lineup looks deep up front. Less offense but better two way play fitting Berube's system. If we can move Vinny for late picks and get some cap space even better. Hexy will need to call teams trying to reach the cap floor and that have a weak fan base and attendance record to try and up the fan interest with a star name guy like Lecavalier ?

This forward group looks impressive and the potential of really rolling all 4 lines and benefiting of two way play is encouraging. We also would have the luxury of flexibility with so many players able to switch positions and line combinations.

Read - Giroux - Voracek
Raymond(ufa) - Schenn - Simmonds
Umberger - Couturier - Akeson
Raffl - Laugton - Bellmare
