It's simple cost/benefit. When he's producing, you can deal with his warts. When he's not, he gets demoted. He was held accountable, in a way that allowed him to earn his way back up.

At this point, we're scraping for things like "this sends a message!" and trying to bullpoop our way into believing this was a good return.

I'm fine with trading Hartnell. I just don't like the return.
