I thought they gave out Coyotes tickets right after you got off the plane and were informed that "it's a dry heat".
- johndewar

You're confusing them with the Marlins and Panthers.

I'm actually miffed though because I'd like to see my father this year in Phoenix and I like to plan it so I can see the Flyers and they only play the Coyotes in their building on 12/29. UGH... Ticket prices will blow monkey chunks! I'm going to have to think about this.

Imgaine Callahan on the wing with Couturier and Read. That would be a nice shutdown line to cause some havoc. Pls would still be able to create offense

If they got Callahan I'd want him on Giroux's line.

When I see a headline like "Islanders win playoff series" I know I'm reading a newspaper from 1993.

Why are you reading 20 year old newspapers? There's so many newer ones available.

They might, but I'm not sure he fits their system. Guys like Backes and Oshie could be top-20 point producers but, much like LA, they all buy into a tight defensive scheme. Heck, even Steen played that style (to a point). As much as Vinny might be a nice fit offensively, not sure his game fits the style. But it's worth a shot to call them up.
- jmatchett383

I just think as much as we might think Vinny might be tough to move I think as long as he is willing to waive the NTC there might be more interest then we think. Too many teams have been coming up short and might take a shot that they can get more from such a player. He still scored 20 goals and still leathal on PP. Teams like

St.louis
Florida
Nashville

Ottawa if they lose Spezza
Dallas

It'll be beautiful around that time of year - mid 70's or so. And as for tickets off the plane? I'd go visit more often if they did! Alas nope, most people aren't even aware they exist. It's nice though my dad gets us great tickets.
Oh and their outdoor area is literally right next to the stadium and filled with a ton of bars/restaurants. Live bands play. It's hopping... Really nice actually.
Since their hotel is there too last time Shelley came down to great the fans before the game. And there were almost as many Flyers jerseys as Coyotes.
they also handed out nice throw blankets for all those thin blooded snowbirds...

The start could be rough if last season was any indication, April looks like a walk in the park, especially because most and a lot of the games are at home.

Oh, I definitely think there's a market for him. I'm just not sure that a team like St. Louis that plays a defense-first system would have interest. But hey, worth a shot if he is willing to waive.

What's the going rate, $14 for front row center ice?

It's not just a willingness for him to waive his no trade clause. He also decides where he wants to go. We can name all the teams we'd like around the league but at the end of the day, he could name only one team that he wants to go to, like Simon Gagne did with Tampa Bay.

Callahan G Jake
Hartnell Schenn Simmonds
Raffl Coots Read

That's a pretty good lookin top 9.

I wonder if Tampa would have interest in taking Vinny back along with a pick or something? We've seen stranger things.

Isn't willingness to waive the same as deciding where to go? Like he could waive to go to any of the teams i listed or only waive for one.

HAHAHA. I doubt it knowing my dad. I'm sure they are cheaper than here but still not cheap... We were on visiting team's face off dot, third row. And Timonen kept clearing pucks right off the glass in front of me. I swear he was aiming at my face.

I think this is a little different than Gags situation....I think Vinny wants out just as much as Philly does. He didnt seem all too thrilled to have his minutes cut short significantly and play 4th line.

Yes, but his point was that he may not want to go where you get a good return, he may force your hand. Say he wants to only go to Florida and the only thing Florida's looking to give up is Jovo and a 6th. You can't really pick and choose. I think that's what he was getting at.

I don't think that will happen, at least not that exact scenario, but it's not a wide open market either.

It's pretty much exactly like Gagne... except that Vinny's got 4-years left, whereas Gagne only had 1. There might not even be a Tampa out there that would want his contract. Even if there was, you can expect to eat salary or eat a Matt Walker.

I get that. I also think just moving him is a win if you don't have to keep much salary. Right now he just clogs the lineup. I would almost take just a little return as it seems to get our lineup in better balance.

You know when they sometimes a guy is better with you then for what you get back in return. Well Vinny is kind of the opposite because just moving him is a win to make our linup a little better balanced.

also you can add in that Simon Gagne I already gave a list of teams. We don't know what's going on with Vincent Lecavalier.

I guess from the little I have seen in reports, if Vinny's agent and Hextall spoke I think there has to be a little give and take. If Vinny really wants to play more top line minutes then he has to be amendable to playing certain places. If he isn't then he might have to play 4th line or wing here which probably isn;t to his liking.

I am thinking Hextall already knows what Vinny is thinking and maybe we see something at the draft. They need to really taek care of this first so they can contruct the lineup. just my opinion.

Perfect OS chance. Per prohockeytalk, Kessler only wants Pens or Hawks. Say he goes to Pens. OS Despres and with the money Pitt has tied up might be hard to match. Plus pisses of Pitt which is fun
