Thank you

I assume the cap hit would be 1/3 of salary each year?

Regardless if the market grows for goaltenders, I think Lindback will want a chance at being a starter. I believe Tampa was originally trying to give him that shot. Nabokov is still a starter. He might land in a supporting role but teams could also become desperate.

If we can upgrade over Emery, fine but Emery complicates nothing. I'd keep him until Anthony Schultz is ready.

How'd things end up with that guitar player you hired for the ceremony?

I think the Flyers should take a low-risk shot at signing TJ Brennan. D-men usually take quite a bit longer to develop and it would likely be low-cap signing.

That's where I thought the 'smash' might have happened.

And stop riding your bike by my house...you freaked out the Mrs this morning when she was going to work.

as a devils fan here is a scary thought, that could benefit the flyers, what about the flyers signing brodeur to be a 1A type goaltender with mason. he could still start when mason gets hurt, which he seems to do every year, and also break it off in the devils ass?

I have trouble picturing Brodeur in a Flyers uniform

No. No no no.

Practically, he's too expensive. With the Flyers perennial cap issues, it'd he boneheaded to drop X on Brodeur to be a 1a with Mason when they could get a true backup for 1 mil.

Also, this team doesn't need a 1a. They need a backup, because this is Mason's crease.

How much truth is there in the rumor that the Flyers are interested in Phaneuf? I know he's been rumored to every team in the NHL but I'm sure he'd be a good top pairing fit for the Flyers?

How about Phaneuf for Brayden Schenn..........the reason I say Schenn is I'm thinking he's looking for a contract in the neighbourhood of $3.2 - $3.75 for 4-5 years and I thinking Laughton could be ready to take over those duties adequately?
Toronto then also take's Lecavalier's full salary.....
And Philly then need's to throw in the 17th pick or Morin in order to offset Lecavalier's salary.

Philly gets rid of Lecavalier's salary, and gets that ellusive top pairing defenceman.

Giroux.....Laughton....Couturier as the centers?

I'm not sure that Vinny waives that no trade clause to go there. Toronto isn't really a piece away from taking it all. I think they go after Spezza hard. I'm not sure I trade Schenn, Vinny, and our 17th or Morin for him. Too much salary to take back.

I hope Brennan is on the Flyers radar, a cheap replacement for Gus with (what looks like) a higher upside. Kid lit it up last year but couldn't crack the lineup because Toronto is full of average D men, just like Philly. I see him as a Kris Russell type player and he just had a breakout season in Calgary.

I also like the idea of taking a long look at Mueller. If he can stay healthy, play the wing and sign cheap. Kid always had hands and the hockey IQ just couldn't stay healthy and had no one to play with in Phoenix and Florida.

Both these guys look like low risk high reward options for the Flyers and help address key needs with SKILL. Something they need more of.

After that trade Vinny for picks, and draft a skilled winger (Fiala, Fabbri or Milano) or another D man (Fleury{In my dreams}, Honka, Mckeown or DeAngelo) and I'd be happy with the offseason.

Oh and I'd sign Lindbeck without a second thought. I saw a Tampa game last year that he absolutely stole. That being said he lost a few as well but that's why he's the back-up and not the starter.

I can see Hexy being a crafty dude. Watch him to something interesting like trade Vinny and Grossmann for picks. Trade our 17th, prospect and Schenns for a d-man. Then sign Fayne, Statsny, and back up goalie like Montoya.

I agree with most of this except for Lindback. Anyone can steal a game, but there are lots of better options. A guy like Chad Johnson would be fantastic as a backup.

Yeah, your probably right. I think Toronto going to try and go hard after ROR anyway, I just thought that if the Flyers could package up Schenn and get rid of Lecavaliers contract then it would be good for both teams? Maybe instead of Phaneuf try to get Gardiner? The rumors are that he's the trade chip that Colorado wants for ROR?
