I meant Luke Adam, but he'd be more of a throw in at this point

I don't know about their goalie prospects
Maybe they'd like one of our guys

I don't know, as a cranky Sabres fan who's tired of being content with consistent mediocrity, I'm not interested in giving players/staff/etc chance after chance to prove themselves anymore. Hopefully Scott doesn't come back, the only reason I see Kaleta playing is that we literally have no one else to play. Kaleta wouldn't make it on any other NHL team.
- Tsyolin

Once again everyone seems to be concerned with 3rd line checkers and 4 th line roleplayers not the top 2 and 3rd line skill players.Kaleta s pk ability alone is worth a third or fourth line at worst shot on this last place rebuilding team.

Yea Adams sucks at least in the NHL. I like Hacket with the Sabres unsure why hes so bad in Rochester.

He looked the best in net of all the rookies I saw this season. They all sucked tho and they all lost.

They might want someone with more term then just guys that will go to free agency the year after they get them. But I can see Steward,Adam and Minnesota's 2nd for the 11th.

Ya, that's why I was thinking we'd have to add a pick or prospect
Seems like a possibility

THE TENNESSEAN: Josh Cooper reports the asking price for the Nashville Predators’ first-round pick (11th overall) is a top-six forward.

Stewart or Stafford?
Would they do that for one of these guys?
Maybe if we add a pick or prospect like Adam?

- jdfitz77

No

Lieuwen, Hackett & Makarov had all been very up & down in their careers
I don't have faith that any of them will ever be more than a decent backup in the NHL
I like Ullmark...
But he's about 3yrs away from wearing a Sabres Jersey
So we'll see

I don't really think lieuwen has been all the up and down. I could be wrong and someone can correct me. But I think he has always when a slow maturing player at all levels but ended up being decent by the time he hit his peak.

That being said I don't see him being being anything more than a good backup and that might be a stretch. But he showed some good things last season (and some bad)

Brad Richards bought out....I know his contract was bad but i've always liked his play. To much pressure with the Rangers for him IMO due to his contract and expectations.

Another big time free agent signing ! Who needs them . They all tend to disappoint.

He will most likely sign for a 2 year 4mil per and go to a team like Nashville that needs a top 6 guy.

This is not a straight-up mock draft, though some consideration was given towards past drafting tendencies – plus trades always muck that up in the end. So without further ado, here are my top 100 draft rankings for 2014:

1. Aaron Ekblad, D, Barrie (OHL) – A surefire NHLer who, at worst, can play on a team’s second pairing for the next decade or more. Whether Florida keeps or trades the pick, other teams think Ekblad is the top prospect available.
2. Sam Bennett, C, Kingston (OHL) – The versatility of skills he brings to the table is incredible. Strong on the puck, talented and competitive, Bennett can also play wing.
3. Leon Draisaitl, C, Prince Albert (WHL) – The big, skilled playmaking center most teams need to win, Draisaitl is an Anze Kopitar kind of player.
4. Sam Reinhart, C, Kootenay (WHL) – Touted as the smartest player in the draft, Reinhart can play in all situations and has put up some serious numbers in junior.

Good read Mike.

He deserves one more shot but if he doesn't perform next season and cleans up his act it is time to cut ties.

No way in hell Reinhart drops out of the top 3. Bennett I believe will be taken 4th overall.

Examining the penguins tank job for Lemieux.

I hope we have a similar documentary in 2035 about the 2015 draft
