There are quite a few national mocks that have him going 4th too.

You know what you are getting in Ekblad and Reinhart.

Bennett and Draisaitl have the highest boom or bust of the top four guys. This organization isn't in a position to chance that. Take the safe play in Ekblad or Reinhart as one of the two will in fact be there at 2. That or move back.

I disagree I believe Reinhart is a disappointment waiting to happen and have felt this way for months. I think Bennett with his skills, and drive to succeed is the safer pick but we will see. Draisaitl I could see boom or bust.

Disappointment maybe based on where he's being drafted. To me he's the safest pick but that may lead to him falling well short of what's expected of 2nd overall pick.

I do get a bit of a Jordan Staal vibe from him. Particularly disturbing given who was taken after Staal

At the same time though like DD said, are you willing to take that kind of risk on Bennett this early in your rebuild. Sure he could be a star but he could also be a complete dud, winds up setting the rebuild back a bit. Decisions decisions...

same here . Seems the top 6 will be nhl players regardless. just we don't have any idea who will be the star power 5 years from now . and yes it will take that long for us to know.

Now, if the Sabres had the 4-6th pick and Reinhart fell to them no problem but I think a 2nd overall pick should be a more complete player who can pass, and score. Can play aggressively and is smart. Bennett fits that mold much closer than Reinhart in my opinion. I just have a feeling that Reinhart will be a disappointment, not a bust but a disappointment for the 2nd pick overall. I rooted for the Sabres to lose all last year for a big payoff and Reinhart is not what I had in mind.

And I don't like the drafting of a guy that has the potential of never making an impact. He has the biggest bust potential.

There's a reason Ekblad is in the top 2 in 46 out of 47 times, Reinhart is top 2 35 times out of 47, and bennett is top 2 14 of 47 times.

Bennett is Mike Richards lite. He'll be 27/28 and be nothing like who he was at 22/23, whereas Reinhart will be Kopitar.

I'll take Reinhart everyday and twice on Sunday. I'd take Draisaitl over Bennett in all honesty.

Best players in this draft will IMO be Virtanen and Tuch.

Tuch will go 10th to Anaheim and follow in Getlaf's footsteps.
