Oh, was that what the article was about? I clicked away before reading. That actually does sound interesting and I apologize.

Thats pretty much where I am now. I remember how all of them ended, but I don't remember any of the actual times together.
- PhillySportsGuy

Like, I remember than I had 2 long-term girlfriends before my wife. And I remember they were both seriously hot. But that's it. They're just these odd mythical figures that I sometimes remember I knew once in some unknown capacity.

Like, you'll think (in your "alone" times) about some girl who you know you had some sort of relationship with and how hot she was. But it becomes a blur, like, "We did...something. And I think we went places. Maybe we went to a concert once, I can't remember." Those memories will be replaced by curtain shopping, carpet selection, and picking out the proper dining room set.

I don't need to do that -- you just proved the point: As far as last season was concerned, Ott clearly wasn't a difference-maker, on a bad AND good team.

Whether he was a symptom or Patient Zero, he didn't make either team better, so why should anyone associated with the Flyers automatically assume that last season was an outlier, at his age?

You can choose to believe that. But yeah, some of us aren't buying that particular stock. And with Ott being the age he is and with the mileage he has on him, those who aren't buying definitely aren't the ones who are taking the risk.

- AllInForFlyers

The flaw here is having an expectation of Ott being a difference maker. He's a role player. And expecting Ott to be a difference maker on a team that has as many holes as Buffalo has. That's not why you sign a player like Ott. We'll start there.

So he's had the same titles Mike Milbury has. Impressive.

Being a player, and a coach certainly makes one competent.

- PLindbergh31

Yes it certainly does. You don't stay in the business as long as he has, if you're not competent. It's a shame that he's held in such disdain and hatred by some.

Then a list of ones who didn't stop you. Tell them to line up please.

Just kidding. Good luck with all that. Marriage is tough, but I wouldn't trade my wife for anything.....well maybe a Stanley Cup....maybe

Look on the bright side... you could have ended up with Jay Feaster.

But didn't Bowman hire him as an assistant in Pittsburgh?

Edit: When Holmgren became GM of Hartford for the 2nd time, his first act was firing him.

- jmatchett383

I believe he was an assistant under Bowman before going to the Whalers.

I still have no idea how Feaster managed not to screw up Tampa before they won the Cup.

There's limits to what even Feaster can ruin in 12mos.

They managed to get it done before the lockout

Ask Hitch & the Sutter who coached the Flames about how they both get screwed by order of his highness the weasel. Game 6 Calgary- Bolts , the Flames had the Cup won until a cheesey intervention power play to extend the series
However, in the current time, aside from sucking money before being useless, Torts and Feaster have sunk to their normal level of garbage without being propped up
