Nah. It is highly unusual for GM's to trade draft picks for rotting cadaver's. - PLindbergh31
You wonder how the guy ever got a job in Hockey. He's been a player, a Coach, an assistant Coach. Assistant GM. GM of two different NHL teams. And now is President of an NHL team. If he only he had spent more time reading Hockeybuzz, and the fans suggestions, he might have gotten somewhere in the sport. |

Plus/minus is a team number. What were the plus/minus numbers of the rest of St. Louis players during that same 23 game stretch? That would provide some context. If you can prove that those numbers were all due to Ott's rapid decline, you might have a point. And if you want to state that the Blues got knocked out early because of Ott, that's your choice. Have at it. - MJL
I don't need to do that -- you just proved the point: As far as last season was concerned, Ott clearly wasn't a difference-maker, on a bad AND good team.
Whether he was a symptom or Patient Zero, he didn't make either team better, so why should anyone associated with the Flyers automatically assume that last season was an outlier, at his age?
You can choose to believe that. But yeah, some of us aren't buying that particular stock. And with Ott being the age he is and with the mileage he has on him, those who aren't buying definitely aren't the ones who are taking the risk. |

So he's had the same titles Mike Milbury has. Impressive.
Being a player, and a coach certainly makes one competent.

He made some good moves, and some ridiculously awful moves. I think the bad outweighs the good.
Anyway he's gone, and I believe Hextall will bring some fresh ideas, and be up for a very difficult task. |

France is smashing the Swiss 3-0 at the half. Has Streit taken up soccer?
- PLindbergh31
both the french and the swiss have a guy named giroux on their teams, and the third french goal was scored by a guy shorter than martin st louis

Financially? Sure. Does any hockey fans take him seriously? The ones I know don't. |

I disagree with that in that I believe Homer really was a net positive, but I do understand the criticisms. You can believe in the guy and still see things that didn't work; everyone has a different metric for how they see it, and I get that. |

He gets paid to talk about hockey multiple times per week; he might not have won as a manager but he is winning at life |

I think it was 50/50. For every Coburn for Zhitnik, there was a 1st for Eminger (although he flipped it with Downie for Carle). He started out good, but by the end, he was having some issues. |
