Don't tell me, let me guess: Ott's leadership, checking and defensive ability aren't indicative of the -38 he posted last season -- including a whopping -12 in 23 games in St. Louis, which was one of the best defensive teams in the league -- nor are they reflected in the fact that St. Louis lost in the first round, nor are they a sign of actual player decline, but they're actually the fault of both Buffalo players and St. Louis players not adhering to their gap control and not supporting Steve Ott properly in their systems?

Off-topic, but:

I'm trying to understand this. Were people squatting in an old Blockbuster and refusing to leave as it was being demolished? Don't they usually empty vacant buildings of people as they demolish them?

If we trade him, guaranteed hat trick in a 3-2 win in the cup-clincher.

This is where the line is drawn

(frank) him. I'm glad he took a nosedive in Vancouver.

I hope the door hit him on the ass so hard he fell over on his way out

Crosby is on vaca and unavailable, Pens can't hire a coach until he gives his blessing.

That franchise is a mess right now. It's amazing that coaching the best player in the world is a hard sell. But when you've got a "short term" GM in Rutherford, a million assistant GMs, an allegedly very involved CEO, and whoever else to answer to, it probs doesn't seem so attractive. Especially after they left the last guy twisting in the wind for two weeks.

Meanwhile, that GM squad has to answer for a lack of forward depth without much in the pipeline. The cap is an issue, too.

Yep -- that job is effing scary right now. You don't know how long Rutherford is gonna be there, the roster has significant salary obligations and you have no idea where Crosby and Fleury's heads are at.

Realistically, they could change everything in no time...

Next off-season.. Malkin for the first +.

Done.

You get McDavid and a poop ton of cap space..

If this McDavid kid is really the "next Wayne Crosby" like everybody's saying, I may hold onto him instead of taking Pittsburgh's second best player in the world.
