There aren't many teams where he would be the clear #1, realistically he should be hoping for a place where he can be apart of a 1A/1B platoon situation where they roll with the hot hand. Playing behind a decent defensive team would't hurt him either.

A lot of Oilers fans wouldn't like it, but I think there is deal in there somewhere. Is Reims a salary dump for you?

Keep Reimer , we don't even know if Bernier will be able to handle the load of being a starter, he hasn't shown it YET. His surgery/injury are sketchy and his groin won't take any less abuse when he returns...don't count your eggs before they hatch.

They (Lombardi and Gaborik's reps) had already come up with an agreed upon framework well before the finals round.

What it DOES mean is that Greene or Mitchell is gone, as well as Fraser's #.
Not to mention Gaborik is not demanding full value , which you gotta love as a Kings fan.

There is just no way. Unless, Gaborik signs for $2 mil or less, one of the Kings huge contracts has to go. Most likely that is Richards. They still have to sign 3 or 4 players other than Gaborik.

Gagner plays wing as well. I think the big thing here is that he has a NTC that kicks in July 1. Last I checked the guy was living with two Oilers. You don't get paid five million a year and have roommates if you don't like the guys. Plus all indication from MacT is that Gagner is a heart a soul guy for the team. Players like him. He looks to at worst play 20+ minutes a game with Perron and Yakupov (Eakins over plays his top 2 lines). He has a NTC for a reason and I don't think the team will be able to get him to budge once it kicks in.

They are paying 6 mill for a guy they were running on the fourth line. They have him under contract for years yet. Nice to have strength down the middle but they have to look at it realistically. 2 UFA dmen, Jones will be getting a raise since he makes the league min and Gaborik as a UFA. Plus next year they have 2 more ufa dmen and 5 RFA's to sign. Richards might be the highest paid fourth line player in the league this year. I think there is a really good chance they are at least thinking about trading him.

Washington, NYI, Philly, Minny, St. louis are potential tandem spots

they have to be scared of the term left (6 years). They brought the guy in to be a 25-30 goal/ 55-60 point, 2 way center. He hasn't produced nearly to those expectations, but hey the kings have 2 cups since he arrived.

I really hope the leafs don't make a play on him. We just cant afford to pay 11 mil on 2 guys who combined for 16 goals last year (Clarkson/Richards)
