Top 25?
Karlsson, Doughty, Keith, Seabrook, Weber, Chara, Letang, Byfuglien, Hedman, Suter, Markov, Subban, Pietrangelo, OEL, Shattenkirk, McDonagh, Goligoski, Fowler, Hamhuis, Edler, Giordano, Kronwall
Those are given. I don't think Dion (right now) is top 25 in the NHL. I'd take those Dmen before Dion.... in a heartbeat in almost all cases - AlfieisKing
Gologoski and byfuglien. Good joke |

15 is a far cry from 60-70 d-men as you first stated.
Even if Dion is the 30th best d-man in the league, that means he is a top pairing d-man on just about every team.
The guy plays every scenario, PP, PK, and plays against other teams best every night. Plays 24mins/night.
Dion gets this bad rep for some reason...I love these moronic Habs/Oilers fans that are chiming in saying he could be had for a 3rd rounder...idiots. - BoBBeR56
Dion is a 2nd dman on a good team; #1 guy on a poor team.
P.S. Technically 60 dmen in the NHL should be top pairing |

Lets do some quick math...I'll go slow and guide you thru this.
You said at best he is a #3 dman on teams.
30 teams in the NHL
#3 means, 2 guys better than him.
2guys per team with 30 teams, is 60...and you said AT BEST he is a #3, implying in some cases he would be a #4...hence the 60-70.
Got it?
Others (not Leafs fans) are saying he's a top25 in the league. What do you think a top25 d-man gets in trade? Roster player, prospect, pick. - BoBBeR56
Theres more too it and you know it.
age? salary and Term ? injury history? is the guy a Richard ? is he a good team guy? too name a few. |

I think he's close after that group...I would put him up against the pilsbury dough boy in Winnipeg any day...Markov ? from what year ? Letang from 2 years ago ...ok....you argue summantics. - landros 2
A healthy Letang I'd take over Phaneuf any day.
Markov over Phaneuf right now. Both left handed but Markov is more of a safe pick
Gologoski and Big Buff are tough calls. Might take Phaneuf ahead of them but certainly not with that $. If they all had 5 years @ 5.5 say, then I'd still take Big Buff (a motivated Buff) otherwise phanuef is around there, ya |

I said there are 15 others id prefer. imo he is a 3 at best on good teams. 2 on a great team. he isn't even on my radar if im dangling schenn. |

I guy who scores 20 goals with little pp time can be any teams 2c. why is that hard to understand?
Go tell that to Malkin, Staal, krejci, Pavelski, Couture, Carter who are all second line centers on there teams. Ya Brayden Schenn would be playing ahead o all of them. |

Those are all teams with stacked centers though. Your argument is valid but you gotta consider all the other teams that don't have that 1 2 punch at center. |

Hes not a guarenteed #2 on all other teams though. Prob a three on tampa with them moving johnson to a top 6 wing. Dont know if hed beat Kadri in Toronto. Colorado has Statsny as their number two. And he definitely isnt a #1 on half the teams in the league like was claimed. Hes a number two on most non competing teams and maybe a few playoff calibre teams. |

I'm not saying he is 1C as of now but give him 2-3 years he very well could be. Still has time to develop. I mean he's 2nd line center for Philly and we have depth at that position. I'm not saying he's the best or great 2C but he's a sold 2C for now |

he already is a 2c. there are at least 12 teams that would immediately make him a first c. he hasn't even reached his potential and already has 2c locked down. - 28Girouxsalem28

Come On he is not top 25 d-man. Offensively he has never been a top 50 in points for D-men and on the defensive he hasnt been as good. He is number 2 d-men. prolly top 50 D-men in the league |
