I'm pretty sure the blues have stated that miller is not in their future plans. They have Elliot and Allen on 1 way contracts this year. Just a heads up

Schenn Brothers plus your first rounder for Dion and Kadri
- sparky

I don't want Luke Schenn. Maybe it's just me but I dont.

Probobly B.Schenn would be the center piece. Then add in your first round pick. Then some other small pieces added going both ways.

I do like Schenn but what is his realistic ceiling? A 2nd line center?

IMO, the trade for Phaneuf is going to be a bit less than what people are expecting. the $7MM cap hit for the next 7 years is a tough pill to swallow.

The leafs will take some sallary back. It will be normal for players of his caliber getting paid that much when the cap reaches 80 mil like it's projected to. Just saying.

EK, are you saying that you believe Spezza's no trade clause will expire before the beginning of the season? Where did you hear this?
- sensano

Why are you asking EK. Do you actually think he reads this site?

It's very unlikely they get moved. It will be hard for them to get a lot of value back when Thorton and Marleau will probobly only except a trade to one or two teams.
- JVR_42_PK81

That will be the stickler I'm sure......it will be like the 5 Leafs players that refused to leave a few years back....what the nick name for them again?

You might be right. However the cap keeps getting better so 7 mil won't be that bad. Plus if your another GM giving up assets for Dion you know you have the guy for the next 7 yrs. You don't have to worry about him becoming a free agent and walking for nothing or a contract being due soon etc. You can bank on Dion being a force on your D for a long time.

We will see what the cap is next year. There have been reports all over the place. Also just because the cap goes up, that does not mean teams will be willing to take on unfavorable contracts

Fair point. Just seemed like one of the more blatant offerings of fake intrigue. There are lots, I know, but this was completely made up.

While I see the point you are making, I think 3 years less on that deal makes the contract a lot more appealing. He will be what 37 when the contract is up?

The same argument can be made for Ehrhoff, While the cap hit is great at $4MM the length is what turns people off.

Lol why would Philly want to get spanked in another trade? Plus that Schenn/Dion beef.

Dion is going to Edmontom for their 3rd rounder straight up and then #tanknation begins. Thank You Shanny.

On Ryan Miller...

Sounds like things may fall into place relatively quickly here...at this point four possible teams. St Louis, San Jose, Pittsburgh and surprisingly Carolina

- Eklund

Um, no dude. Pay attention.

Blues have already told Miller to hit the bricks. Brian Elliot signed to a new contract and Armstrong has publicly stated that Jake Allen will be with the big club.

No room here, fella. Move on.

I am pretty sure that ek meant the no trade list has an expiration date. Not the actual no trade clause. Meaning after a certain amount of time he has to make a new list and he may have changed his mind at that point.

Would love that trade. But don't think it would begin Tank nation. Leafs will use that money to fill other holes.
