The TSN comment thread is overrun with ppl blasting the possible Yak for Kane Deal.
Seems nobody on there would even consider Yak - Byfuglien Ate Me
yep. Read that WPG would be crazy to take anything less than Yak, a 1st, and a top prospect for kane |

Who gives a (frank) about Chris Kelly?? - saskoil21
I think it was just a joke. while replying to my post saying trde yak for 3rd liner..
but really though, chris Kelly is an extremely solid 3rd line center.
boston is loaded with center depth (especially now with the emergence of soderberg) and is up against the cap.
he'd be a great fit here. add mcquaid to that deal for the 3rd pairing defensive guy mact mentioned, and weve killed 2 birds with one stone.
for probably what would be a very reasonable price.
this would be very similar to the perron deal. an elite team needing to shed salary. they aint thinking of moving these guys cause they aint good.
perron, Kelly, winnik -----would be a 3rd lne I could feel very confident with going into next season. |

Nothing and Leafs retain $2MM of salary. |

You missed the Ek blog where this was discussed in length? There's like 600 pages of it If you're retaining a fair deal of cap (between 1 and 2 mill) I'd make an offer for him. |

a package centering around gagner and the 2015 1st could interest me. not sure the logistics..
especially if you retained some salary |

well played.
but on a serious note; with ur upcoming cap issues, I think a package of Kelly and mcquaid could be extremely interesting for us. - hugefemale dog77
I was going to post these exact players for a potential Oiler/Bruins trade
I would deal both for a mid-level prospect and a 3rd. The Bruins desperately need cap relief and both those players become expendable with the emergence of younger players.
Kelly would be a great addition to the Oilers, he's a 3 zone center who can play heavy PK minutes. McQuaid could be a solid 5/6 defender who can hit. |

hmmmmm.
shot in the dark here. could it've been the oilers???
brown is no star. ugly skater and brick hands.
but high energy, high effort and sticks to what he knows. physical pressure.
put him on a good team, with a limited role and what happens.....he becomes a reasonably valuable, low minute 4th liner for them.
brown was never useless here imo |

crazy concept I know.
apparently ference sucks too. dude couldn't even handle a top pairing role!!loser.
I guess he became a totally different and inept player as soon as he switched from a boston jersey to oiler silks |

I think inevitably both would be depended on more heavily than they are in Beantown. (pretty standard for any quality player coming here probably)
but if we could somehow limit that with other insulating additions, I think they could be very helpful in the same relative role.
especially Kelly.
mcquaid is a bit more of a question mark behind that fantastic top 3 and pretty great youngins....... but hes big, wouldn't cost much and only has 1 year even if he was in fact terrible.
better than the fistrics, frasers etc anyways |
