Interesting. I see what you are saying. I agree that if we are to ever compete we need a third line that can produce. Realistically when we are at that stage 25+ goals from a player on that line would be ideal. I guess I am just seeing Perron as the biggest hitter and maybe our best goal scorer in the top 6. I would much rather see him play the opposite wing than bump him down short term. I do see your point but Eakins plays a short bench, I am not convinced next year he will or the Oilers will have the talent to run 3 capable offensive lines. I guess we'll see what pieces he can add though. It is possible.

I see it something like this using, some comparable players to what im thinking;
Bickell, nuge, ebs
Hall, Berglund, yaks
Perron, kelly, winnik
We'd mix and match depending on whos goin..
But bickell lends an element we dont have in our top 6 and creates some space for nuge/ebs.
(perron is gritty and certainly willing, but hes no physical force. If hes ur push back- you've got problems)
Berglund lends some defensive conscience to some elite offensive talents.
The 3rd can be effective in all 3 zones.
Switching bickell to the 3rd for example, limits their skill and offensive punch. Kinda turns it into a one dimensional checking line.
I think with the type of core we already have in place, we need to diversify our attack as much as possible
