Ehrhoff has a much more friendly cap hit than Campbell, making him more attractive for teams that are close to the cap. I see bringing in Campbell as a way to flip Ehrhoff for a low first round pick (with one of our 2nd rounders). I wouldn't expect Campbell to be a part of the rebuild, just a means of moving pieces around to gain quality draft picks.

I'm actually just amused by the slim, odd chance that both RJ Umberger and Soupy could both end up on the Sabres after what transpired back in 2006. Awkward locker room moment?

There should be some good scoring wingers available still in the middle of the first. I would be quite happy with a Barbashev/Perlini/Milano/Tuch type winger to go with Bennett/Reinhart/Draisaitl.
