Yea but their offense was above average for them.

Top half of the league in goals per game. 6th in powerplay. They need someone to join Rielly as part of their future defense, especially if they consider moving Phaneuf.

If I was them I would take a center. Toronto hasnt had a great one since Sundin and dont really have any in the pipeline especially if theyre trading Kadri (whos a long shot at being a top line player anyways)

Stewart doesn't have as much value as most people think, and we still have 2 2nd's after that.

I don't think the value is that bad. Unless he has an incredible year, I doubt stewart would fetch us anything more than what Moulson did.

I would do it as a bridge to Risto/Zadarov. I think he could fetch you something at the deadline next year when he would be a rental for a playoff team. In the meantime he helps you reach the cap floor. He could make Ehrhoff expendable.

It's hard to say what Florida would want. With the top 6 they have, it could make Stewart excited and engaged in the game. I wouldn't mind playing with Barkov/Bjugstad. They are pretty great centers and Florida isn't a bad place to be year round. Could be enticing for him to resign.

That is a terrible deal!

In 3yrs Moulson is more than likely a 3rd liner on this team. His foot speed isn't the greatest and is the 1st thing to go. You now have 2-3 more years of a guy making 6 on the 3rd line.

This is why I have a no more than 3yr contract for the majority of top UFA guys.

Agreed foot speed will slow, but he doesnt score on the rush, he scores being in right place around the net. He's worth 4/24 imo
