-Trade Hodgson+ for ROR's rights. Give O'Rilley what ever he wants. C for C, Hodson is locked in for a few years, satisfies Colorados needs. Plus, what ever else we throw in there.

-Persure the Sh*t out of Patrick Kane.
Pair him up with the best center we get this year or next year or the year after. Warn him that the next year or two will be a bumpy ride, but it will pay off and he will have plenty of slavic cabbies to punch in the mean time.

-Girgensons #3 C

....all of a sudden, I like this team a lot. In cap structure and on the ice.
hey, it's hockey buzz. Sue me.

Cody PLUS....it might hurt to throw someone else in. But Remember, it's only the rights to negotiate with ROR....until the Avss come to an agreement with him, they don't have a ton of leverage. He may be sick of their merry-go-round.

I see Hodgson as being the eventual odd man out here, but that's not to say he lacks value. ROR would earn somewhere below $6m if we qualified him, which is a lot of scratch.

Thats about the max for a guy who's unsigned. Don't want to become the next Islanders if he refuses to sign. CoHo is on the books. Thats value to a team like the Avs.

only problem could end up being a daniel briere situation where he hits UFA next year
with the arbitration ..

I can't remember if you can't sign the player to long term contract in the session

The Thing with ROR is that you're probably going to get his best years if you sign him to a 7 year contract. No way I would give Callahan the same money at 31 that I would give ROR at 23. Trade for ROR's rights, give him what everyone wanted to give cally 3 months ago and trade him when he's 29 or 30 to some sucker ass team that looks at him like many of us were looking at Cally at last years trade deadline.

Decline at 28??!?

This whole 'young mans game' thing has been taken way too literally. In many many cases, prime years go till 34 and dont even start till 25.

Defencemen have been known to play some of their best hockey post 30.
Goalies even more so.

I think we've found way more young players getting more of a shot to make a difference at 21,22.
But this shouldnt suggest players at 33 cant be equally or even more effective

Cody's likely the odd man out here, and that Stl pick will be late.

Yeah I agree. Buffalo doesn't have to overpay for anybody. We're terrible and everybody and their mother knows we are rebuilding. Plus Colorado almost has to trade him. The onus is on Colorado to move him bcz fairly good teams might offer sheet him and then they only get mid level 1st's. Not that that is terrible but it doesn't help a contender right now.

NO ONE knows if that's true, people need to stop talking in absolutes about their draft board.

For what it's worth, I've heard Reinhart is and has been their guy.

Just what I've heard.

With them in win now mode, I don't think they'd want picks or prospects...
They need defense
I think Hodgson + Ehrhoff gets it done
As long as the AVs are on Ehrhoff's no trade list
I think he'd go there though

IMO Cody plus is going to Winnipeg for Kane.

Makes sense as Murray wants another 1st from a team to take on salary.

And Winnipeg want multiple 1st's

Cody, say 22, 39, and StL 1st in 2015 makes an interesting offer for Kane.

(add where is needed).
