Hockey Prospect "NHL Scout comments" on Ho-Sang

"I'll be shocked if he goes in the 1st round"

"If he goes in the 1st round, that team gets what they deserve"

"I don't think we are interviewing him at the combine"

- ob18

Would you take him in the 2nd round?

Maybe, but I don't see him falling that far.

I agree, but I'd like to avoid a big deal for an unknown. If he signs for $900K, great. If he wants all sorts of potentially damaging bonuses and other perks, go find another Bellemare.
- Jsaquella

Oh, I agree. I made the assumption it was under 800K which I guess you shouldn't do when other teams with more space are involved.

I wonder where Ville Leino ends up. I guess Finland and/or the KHL would be in play as well as the NHL.

I really liked him as a Flyer, and think its too bad that he wasnt an RFA when he left town. It would've been nice to have gotten something in return for his departure.

That's wrong on so many levels

The idea of him will always be better than the reality... and both of them were rushed in too early and have huge gaping holes in their games.

I was chatting with some folks on twitter, it might end up that he signs with team that promises him most top six opportunity

If he's willing to take a small enough salary, he could end up here as a third line option. It'd take a massive, serious insane paycut, but that's probably the case anywhere in the NHL.

great movie. My father in law knows all about him. He was loved by everybody before ABSCAM.

The Flyers have shown they will move guys up in the lineup if they're performing at a high enough level. By the end of the season, VL was on the 4th line and Raffl was playing in the top 6.

Thats really all you can ask for as a player

Agreed. I still would take Booth on a one year flyer (no pun intended) before Leino, but if they're willing to play for cheap (i.e. under $1mm) why not roll the dice on a one year deal?

I'm not really interested in either, but I would take Booth ahead of Leino as well. Leino looks completely cooked. Haven't seen much of Booth lately, but I haven't heard one good thing about him either.

I should add that I didn't even realize what the movie was about until the one guy said ABSCAM. I turned to my stepson and was like, I remember that in the 70's.

Maybe a lot of you have already seen it, but cap geek has an interesting feature that gives a different way to value players. It takes the armchair gm feature, collects data on what people sign certain upcoming free agents for, and then finds the average over large amounts of signings. It shows how much people generally value certain players:
http://capgeek.com/armchair-gm/trends/

Highest frequency Flyers players are Emery at $1.5mil, Downie at $2.7mil, Timonen at $3.9mil,

Niskanen's is $4mil, interestingly.

MoAT hates his guts, said he'd light his car on fire...actually he had a rough year in Vancouver, but a lot of guys did. I'm still fighting the good fight to get Matt Read in the top 6

It was actually the reverse. We both share a disdain for congressman who take bribes, but I felt they went through an awful lot to get this guy, who was just trying to help his state create jobs.

My mom felt no remorse and said he shouldn't have ever taken any money under any circumstance. Even if it meant walking away from a deal that would have helped the people.

The strength of this team is mason and our forwards. Not d. Also another factor to consider is coburn has 2 years left on his contract. In 2 years ghost and hagg will be on the roster. Possibly morin too. We have streit and McDonald lock up for 4-5 years. Coburn will want a raise. I wouldn't give it to him with the depth well have plus any other moves that are made in that time. Just saying.

I would be happy with any combination of Pouliot, Leino, or Booth as a replacement for Downie as long as the price were right, i.e. Low. I'm not sure any of that is happening.

If I had to guess, I'd say Bellemare has the inside track on that 3rd line wing spot.

Can Laughton play on the wing? We only have 80 million centers under contract.

My argument was with my wife...

Wife: How the (frank) did that piece of poop get nominated for an Oscar?!?!?!

Me: I thought it was good. Loved Louie Ck and Bale was great.

Wife: Yeah, bumhole? You think The Big Lebowski is the greatest movie ever, so STFU
