Not with that cap hit...

His trade value is very low right now if we sent leddy and a pick/prospect maybe philly would eat 1.5-2 mil that would only cost us 2.5-3 mil.

Could the Hawks have beaten the Kings if they had a 2C.....yes.

Could the Hawks have beaten the Kings if they were able to roll four lines.....yes.

You lose in overtime in Game 7 to the eventual Stanley Cup champs.....

Do you trade one of your core players for the ever elusive stud 2C......which more or less is a major overhaul of your roster.....plus a huge cap concern considering Kane & Toews.

Or-

Do you find a a veteran who's more capable than Zus and fine tune your bottom six without trading one your high end players.....

If it's going to come to that, why not go after Gagner, or Neilsen? Instead of bringing in old and slow?

I said this as soon as he was bought out....although I used red font.

The Hawks will "add" something, at the very least to replace Handzus. And don't be too terribly surprised if it isn't a reclamation project and former Red Wing named Ville Leino.

The Hawks are not going to add at all.

The Swede C was Zus replacement .

Right! Philly is unlikely to be eating Vinny's salary either with their cap problems.

I would love to have Nielson as second line center he would be a good fit but how much do the islanders value him and would they even be willing to part with him? 58 points last year and only a 2.75 mil cap hit its going to be hard to pry him away for cheap.

And hell no to Lecavalier. The guy was demoted to the 4th line in Philly. And I am pretty sure he hasn't played a full season in 6-7 years/
