Anyone can be moved, but do the Blackhawks really want to move Bicks? We're already short on size so I don't see him going anywhere, his cap is is not to bad either. For the most part big guys like Bickell tend to be inconsistent, I don't think he's a cause for concern.

He's not a cause for concern and I definitely like what he brings in the playoffs. I think if Bowman can use him to bring in a good 2C with some size, it'd be worth it.

Even though he has size, he doesn't play with size (for the most part). He likes to use his wrist shot much more than he likes to plant himself in the dirty areas. Injury or not, if he can bring back someone who plays big and can better fit this team, do it yesterday. When I see Bickell, I see Daze. A guy who you wish gave you more.

The only problem with moving Bickell is that you wouldn't have the big frame come playoff time...unless you were planning to hitch your wagon to Dustin Penner (who is UFA). Who, actually, isn't a bad playoff performer and had a good start to the year in Anaheim. Was surprised they moved him.

Bickell is more physical that Daze was, but I get your point. Nonetheless I still don't think it's time to trade Bicks.

Daze... that kid had talent. He would have a really good career if his back had not gone out on him.

Ok so our Expendables with decent trade value
Leddy 2.7
Teravainen (.895)
Sharp 5.9
Oduya 3.375
Bickell 4.0
Shaw 2.0

I would guess at least two guys on this list are gone. If you sign Smith, Brookbank and a goalie, whoever comes back needs to be paid out of the departed salary.
Go back to an earlier statement. Arm chair GM is maddening

For the right deal, I'll pack Bickell's house and drive him, his wife and 25 dogs to the airport. His cap hit sucks. He had a sub par season and 2 good rounds in the playoffs (was invisible vs. LAK). Needs to do more to justify his $4mil cap hit, he's basically a really expensive 3rd liner.

F the size BS, you can replace size for less $$$. Tired of hearing that argument.

For some reason in the new blog when I click on the comments link it says the thread doesn't exist...hopefully this rectifies itself soon. Kind of like the Bowmans offseason plans it sounds like.

Maybe SB is not rushing so quick, because he really F'd up last year.

What about a guy like Vinny Lecavalier good size and can finish. Heard Philly is looking to part ways sounds like a move stanbo would love to make send leddy and a pick for Lecavalier and philly eats part of his cap hit. Solves second line center problem in the short term until younger guys can develop.

Yuck...Lecavlier is done.

I'd rather just see the Hawks continue doing what they're doing, and I hate that option.

His cap hit does not suck.
His sub par season could be because of injury.
He's not that expensive considering others at his position
You can certainly replace size with less money....there's always Mashintor in RFD

It's not my ideal situation but I just think its the type of move bowman is going to make aging underperforming vet that they think has some tread left on the tires and availible for minimal cost
