Trading Kane would definitely end the yearly cap crisis. Might be something to think about. |

Bailey over Neilsen? Check your temperature, you make be ill.
Edit: I'd take Strome though....he's from my home town. - DarthKane
Both are much younger and more physical than Nielsen. |

The only thing you would want is draft picks and maybe a top prospect. No players. Trading Kane is a clear signal you aren't contending anyway. May as well get draft picks from a crappy team. Yeah yeah, I know. They can wait. However which ever crappy team he goes to may be deluded enough to think they have a chance to sign him. |

Bailey is a winger and Strome isn't as good as Neilsen on the dot. Neilsen also played more on both special teams units, significantly more. |

And he's less likely to be traded...so there's that. |

meh. nielsen may be good at the dot. What happens when the other team has the puck. The guy averages 30 hits a season. Him and Kane on a line together are going to have a hard time getting the puck back. That would be my concern.
At the end of the day. Anyone that plays 2C will be an improvement over Handzus in that role.
Kane excels with a center who has some of the same attributes as Toews. Yeah, I know, there is only one Toews. Kane needs a center who can keep up with him and whose strengths are driving the net and working down low. I am not sure Nielsen fits that criteria. |

Strome is young and has more upside. I know Bailey is a winger. The Hawks can use some for the bottom lines.
Nielsen is 30. Strome is 21. |

I should have qualified my statement by saying he's less likely to be moved for what the Hawks will likely be willing to offer.
He's obviously the best of the 3, and has a cap friendly deal for 2 more years. What makes you think Nielsen would be the most likely to be moved? Makes no sense, unless you think GM's are in the business of lending Stan a helping hand. The Isles will need a 2C in the future too, no? |

Sharp is being moved, Gingerbread. This is right out the McD playbook. Spread some negatives around before you move him. |

Something interesting for all you TT fans out there: Was at the Chicago LockerRoom store this afternoon, and found that you can now purchase your #86 tee shirt jersey in the mainstream stores.
Anyone want to doubt that TT will be in the lineup for the big club next year?

I can live with the Sharp trade off to the Islanders you are all imagining...
only if it is Matt Martin and Frans Nielsen....

How much of Nielsen have you watched?.......and now we need someone who hits more?.....when that's not what a puck possession team? ?.......um.....makes sense.....I guess |

I could be wrong, but i honestly have no fear of Kane NOT resigning in Chicago. Worst case scenario, the Hawks put him on the block and make a killing. Yeah it would suck to lose him, but there could be a nice return for Kane if a deal doesnt get worked out in time.
Its win win - BlazinMike
Seriously? Count the number of current players who have demonstrated repeatedly (say, at least 3 or 4 times) the ability to completely take over a playoff series. Very short list, especially if you discount goalies. If the Hawks are truly a One Goal team and that goal is postseason success and winning Stanley Cups, you can't replace Kane no matter what you bring in return. |

Nope. I hope they don't move him. Sure seems like they will though. I am not exactly filled with overwhelming confidence that Bickell can handle that for a full season. |
