Silly indeed. It's like a guy from Peoria "longing" to go back home. People leave Buffalo because they can. People return to Buffalo because they have to. Kane doesn't have to and won't. I'd bet a shiny new dime on it...
- Baaaaaaannerman!

Precisely. Plus, we haven't even approached the absurdity of suggesting that Kane would leave Chicago due to a lack of centers, only to go to a place that ices Cody Hodgson and Tyler Ennis as their 1-2C.

This is one of the most absurd thought experiments I've ever done

I always thought Teravainen with Hossa would be a good idea, maybe with Saad on the LW.

As long as there's a defensive presence, I think TT will flourish with just about any combo of guys in our Top 6. Plus, there's really no evidence to suggest Teuvo isn't a competent defensive player to begin with.

The best part about TT is that he'd probably force Q to reunite Toews with Kane...just as God intended in the beginning.

THE GREAT DANE!!!

THE DANISH BACKHAND OF JUDGEMENT!!!

The Danish Backhand of Judgment is still the NHL’s all-time leader in the shootout (of those who have at least 20 attempts).

Interesting choice of words there, for a Sharks fan, Stinks.

I'm simply saying any defensive shortcomings could be hidden with Hossa, Toews, Saad. As I stated, nobody has yet to present any evidence that Teuvo isn't defensively responsible. It's all people who just KNOW that all young players are bad defensively.

It gets more dicey if he's out there with Versteeg and Shaw. I think he'd be fine just about anywhere though. My only fear is that Q "works him in" with that worthless sack of dung Brandon Bollig.

I agree very much with your analysis. Just pointing out that using "our Top 6" is odd for a Sharks fan talking about a Blackhawk lineup....

You and US have been somewhat dogged in your desire for Frans. You both know more about these things, so what the hell? In addition, even Elbows hasn't been overly negative....

I just don't understand how the little we saw of Morin has completely won your heart & mind. I am not advocatinf any specifics except the Hawks need now guys to win and roll four Cup lines...no learning guys who are really later when they are 21, but veteran presence for the BLUES WILD AND STARS games next Spring.
If we have a Pearson drafted two years ago in his second or third eleigibilty year, then I am fine trying him out...same with Morin, but the proof is in the graded results each in and game out...and I am not sure that Morin graded out like that in my mind...

- wiz1901

It's not so much about Morin as it is about Versteeg. He's a waste of a roster spot right now. He was awful this year, there's no sugar coating it. There's a reason he's been traded 4 times in the last 5 years.

Why in the world would TT have to play with Kane? That's the question the TT haters refuse to answer. Kane with Toews, TT with Hossa/Sharp.

It's so easy that it hurts.

Was he bad? Yes.
Was he still recovering from a knee injury? Probably.
Do most severe knee injuries take about 18-24 months to heal? You betcha.

The bottom line is simple....They gave up 2 guys for him. He has a relatively small cap hit on the Hawks books for 2.2 million. Under the Hawks doctor's eyes, and their strength coach it's too much of a high reward/low risk option to go ahead and dump. He's not untouchable but I would bet there wont' be many, if any, teams calling the Hawks about him.

He's on this roster in September and I hope Jay Zawaski's head explodes when it happens.

I hope the kid is the REAL deal. I still think he is a future RW in the NHL and Hossa/Kane are blocking that. They still need a LARGE center if they decide to go with TT in the 2 hole and KRuger in 3 or 4. They cant' roll out small centers as we saw how that worked vs LA.

As far as proof? There is no proof on either end if he's good or bad. He's a prospect. So until he puts up points in the NHL level I'm not going to view him as some untouchable can't miss guy. Dave Bolland once dominated the OHL....so did Kris Draper and how did that translate to their NHL game?

Oh boy...Doug Wilson is off his meds if he does that.

I'm still shocked Havlat hasn't hit the waivers or been announced he's been bought out.

I loved Marty....

Upon closer review though, his issues are more cerebral than orthopedic. Can't blame bad passes and turnovers in the offensive zone on the knee. If you can trade him you trade him. I'm not a Zawaski fan, nor as insistent about Versteeg as he is, but I just think the team would have been better off with the next best option at the time, Morin, playing for him.

Wilson has already told Havlat he's not returning to San Jose next season. The Sharks have both their Compliance Buyouts and I doubt he'll find a trading partner to take Havlat. Marty will be bought out but he'll find employment somewhere.

Not really sure why this isn't talked about more.

Saad - Toews - Kane

Hossa - TT - Sharp

Bickell - Krugs - Shaw

Smith - Outsider not here yet / Rockford guy- Bollig

It would seem to work money wise, not a bad line up especially if that 4th line C can be a good PK guy.

He was bad. I'll never discount that.

However, for whatever reason they wouldn't have brought him back if the reward didn't out weight the risk.

If we get 2010 type production from Versteeg he'll be a perfect addition to that bottom 6. I bet we will see a motivated hungry Versteeg.

Saad/Toews/Kane
Bickell/Sharp/Hossa
Morin/Kruger/Shaw
Smith/Free Agent/Bollig/Rockford flavor of the day

Unless of course there is in fact a "no playing center" clause in the contract, no reason why this could not be done either.
