Unless some other team can offer him a one-way contract, which could happen; I see no reason why the Ducks wouldn't offer him a hearty two-way to stay.


Steckel is 32. Do veterans get two-way contracts? I thought those were offered to players coming off of their ELCs.

Welcome Ed! I have a question though, are you a Ducks fan or just a blogger? (had to take one last dig at Steve. )
I agree with your assessments. As much as I love Koivu and want him back, if the Ducks swing a deal for a second line center Saku is a fourth line center behind Getzlaf, Player X, and Bonino. Plus he's battling for playing time with Perrault. Haven't even mentioned Rackel.
I hope they can re-sign Winnik, too. The guy can't finish to save his life but he does all the little things that don't show up in the Corsi percentages.

BTW, are you a die hard Corsi guy?
