I feel Washington could be a strong suitor for Erhoff . What is their new GM willing to give up. Being a new GM hopefully he is not as emotionally attached to Burakovsky as the guy that drafted him.

I would think there will be plenty of suiters for the big Kraut.

The length left on his deal is the only thing that would scare me off.
- Maximum Signal

That is true, but at 29 he doesn't play the game like the king of glue and Brown. He is a hard-nosed player, but doesn't put himself in the same situations. I think he is likely to play out his contract moreso than Brown and Callahan.

If we were able to get Mike Richards, I wouldn't buy him out.

I would assume that the 1st would be conditional on the buyout though.

- thatsapickle

I meant brad Richards I agree with you about mike Richards though.

Ha.
After reading a few pages here I am so glad that whatever idle time I do have, I stick to my poetry.
No offense.
I think I made it through 2 pages and the word monotonous quickly came to mind.
God bless you hardcore posters.
Seriously.

I figured you meant Brad, but tried to spin it on a player that I guess some feel LA could be moving away from. That idea seems crazy to me, but I guess if they feel Toffoli and Pearson are going to be vying for top-6 roles, Richards is expendable.

The topic of trading for players to buy them out. Was that from Murray or just an idea proposed on the buzz. Sorry if I missed the origin of it.
- cabin

Murray was quoted about it. However I'm not a fan, I feel the NHL would do a post ruling saying we circumvented the CBA and we'd lose our 1st next year.

Now that it's out there, the NHL would let him know if it was cap circumvention

Who knows. They rejected kovalchuck contract twice I believe, then accepted it, then penalized the devils.

I guess it's too early to tell as only one player is on waivers right now.

1 player cannot turn a franchise around. Penguins were still bad for a few seasons after drafting Crosby and malkin

I think Buffalo is doing it in reverse.

They're putting together some of the supporting cast, before they get their couple superstars.

Penguins made the playoffs Malkin's rookie year. The only reason it looks like a while on paper was the hold up in getting Malkin to come over from the KHL and the lockout.

Malkin + Crosby turned them from bottom dweller to division contender (2pts back of NJ for the title) instantly.

IMO we are building like Chicago did. A good foundation of prospects and young players........ and then drafted Kane/Toews and added Sharp/Hossa.

IMO Murray will be adding his Sharp/Hossa/Oduya within the next 2 off seasons
