Is lecavalier eligible for a compliance buyout? Thought contracts signed after the lockout ended were not eligible?
- Otsegolectric

I don't think he is . Big money UFA's really do not pan out in majority of cases. There is a valuable lesson to be learned there.

This ROR talk just won't go away will it, he isn't leaving the AVS,
- SABRES 89

Just like the Philly gm said he wasn't trading Carter & Richards?
I know u only speak in what u definitely KNOW what will happen...
But there's really no harm in the rest of us talking about a good player we'd love to get IF possible

We will stink next year unless we make MANY big changes
Your comment is ridiculous
Anyone we add NOW, can also help in the future...
Right?!

When exactly do u think we are gonna be a good team again?
Minimum 2yrs, prob closer to 4
Pitt didn't get to the cup the year after they drafted Crosby
Neither did the Hawks with Kane
Its still gonna take a few years no matter who we draft

- jdfitz77

Because we need more assets to deal , before you start dealing them . And I think the price tag is too high for a number 2 center at best . Probably a fine #3 center and we have that in training here in Girgensons. Don't want to offer sheet him either and give up the top picks we have tanked so hard to get.

It came out when people spoke of his NTC list as he has a 8 or 10 cities he can refuse.I am not going to go internet searching . Others here reported it as well.

Colorado is just not going to let him get away . If he is really after the dough. Sign a bridge deal that gets you to being a UFA . Then go for huge dough . He would be nuts to leave that situation for a few extra dollars
- Maximum Signal

Who said they'd let him get away!
They could get a very good return if they traded him
Prob a top6 forward and a top4 defenseman
If he wants too much $$$
I think they'd at least consider other options
Not that it will happen, but saying it def won't is premature at best
They've had all year to work out a deal and still haven't

Best model is Boston's. Get some solid players to build your team around (Bergeron, Chara), make smart trades that constantly increase the value of your team, mortgaging your future a little bit in each trade until your team is bursting at the seams with good prospects. The other models involve sucking or draft handouts (Crosby).

Why would Buffalo want Edmonton's 3rd overall? You guys are probably drafting Draisaitl or Bennett, so you want both? Even still, you wouldn't be giving up Ehrhoff (he's too old for this type of deal), you'd be giving up a stupid package like two of Zadorov, Pysyk, and Ristolainen... which no GM in his right mind would do.

U think a guy this young, that just scored 28g is a 2/3 center?
Come on

And its not too early to trade for a guy that still has 12years or so of good hockey in him
Do u know how old he is?
Not like he's 28 dude
If get the chance to get a good player, u take him

How Girgensons turns out is still a ways from being determined... Esp on the scoresheet

How many teams are in the west? He won't have full say since he can only block 10 teams, and I'm sure he is gonna want to put teams such as florida and NYI on that list.

We should talk about players we have a chance to sign or trade for not a guy if signed to an offer sheet will kill all the Sabres chances of a rebuild, if the AVS don't match. Makes no sense what so ever for the AVS to not retain him, money or no money, unless there is a team willing to give up so much to get him.

I wouldn't call him anything close to a #1 yet. Even a few of the good Av's fans think he's benefitted from a great cast around him.

To paraphrase an Av's fan O'Reilly looked lost when he wasn't on the Landeskog line

Richards and Nash ?
- jaumiller

If we were able to get Mike Richards, I wouldn't buy him out.

I would assume that the 1st would be conditional on the buyout though.

U don't think an Ehrhoff + Hodgson/Ennis offer works for them?
I def wouldn't offer sheet him

Ha.
After reading a few pages here I am so glad that whatever idle time I do have, I stick to my poetry.
No offense.
I think I made it through 2 pages and the word monotonous quickly came to mind.

That I would do. Screw the offer sheet. Heard it would be 2 1sts and a 2nd and a 3rd

Not saying it would or wouldn't but it doesn't make sense for the Avs to trade him for Ehrhoff and either Hodgson/ Ennis. They would get a better offer IMO from other teams.

Don't think that offer works as they overvalue him and yes I think he is a 2C at best. Better suited to a good 3C that can be moved to 2C when needed . And that is what I picture Girgensons as. Roy has publicly stated deal with O'Reilly will get done . He thought it was mishandled last time. I don't think Sakic and Roy plan on him leaving town for at least 6 - 8 years.

Ehrhoff could be a benefit on their backend in a 3/4 role, but they lose a lot of offense with Hodgson/Ennis.

In all reality, I am looking at UFAs and seeing who could be available.

I really would push for Brian Boyle. Solid player that could help Girgensons if they are looking to develop him as a C.

I would look at Beniot Pulliot too.

He looks pretty good to me for a 23yr old
#1.... I wouldn't say that... Unless u wanted to compare him yo "#1s" like Burgeron & Drury
Idk about u...
But I'd LOVE to get a player like that
I don't need him to be "Crosby"
We get that next draft

Was under the impression he was going to retire? I'd take a look at him but not sure he'd want to be here.

Frolik is another name i'd look at.

I would say rule out Vancouver , Winnipeg , Edmonton , Calgary and New York Islanders for sure . Florida and California can be attractive to hockey players but we won't get a very good offer from those teams.
