1) he's only 23, he could grow into a top line player... He has improved his scoring every year

2) I never said he was a top line player. I said he could be a good PIECE for the future

Do u really think its a bad idea to get a 23yr old that plays good defensively and will score 25+ goals?

- jdfitz77

He's worth more to the team that drafted him.

You don't go out and sign 25 goal scorers to 7+ million dollar deals while trading away big assets. He just isn't that good. I like the player, hate the idea of making a huge trade for him.

He finished 30th is goals scored.

29 scored more or the same as him as the place on the list is based on points when the goals are even.

- dadeadhead

The question u responded to was...
How many guys scored more goals than ROR this year?
The answer is 25
I didn't ask about the tiebreaker that doesn't even matter
The point was, he's already GOOD offensively

For the record...
I never said to go get Cally
I said I wouldn't be upset if we did
Why?
Who's our leaders for these next 3yrs before we make a move like that?
Staff, Stewart, Ehrhoff, Weber...
These are the elders that are gonna show our youth the way to play the game

That seems like a horrible idea to me
It doesn't have to he Callahan
But we should do something

- jdfitz77

Sign Moulson for 3 yrs 6 mil per.

Eats up cap space to hit the floor.

When it's time to compete, his cap hit is gone.

Callahan will never sign gor anything less than 5 yrs, 6+ per, and a FULL NMC/NTC. The latter is why NY moved him.

If it means giving up Myers, yes.

No IMO at his age depending on what it would take to get him, he's the perfect age for this rebuild.
- dadeadhead

That's all I'm saying as well
I don't see what the issue is
Its not like I wanna trade the #2 pick + myers for him

He did place 22nd in the league in ppp with 22, that is something this team needs in a bad way.

I'm not against ROR, I am however against giving up the farm for him then having to pay him 7+ mil per.

Every contract is an overpayment now a days
At least it seems like it
I'm more concerned with what we'd have to give up to get him

The issue is what you have to give up for someone who isn't a game breaker.

He isn't even a top 3 forward on his own team.

Let's talk about prying Duchene or Mackinnon from them

I don't think moulson will come back
I actually don't think Cally signs here either
I just think we need to do something

Just a thought, say they do the rumored Pitt deal where they move an asset for Scuds and the 22nd pick. They then use that pick and one of Risto, Zads, McCabe, or Pysyk for ROR.

How does everyone feel?

I just don't see that happening.

It begins and ends with #2, Myers, and Girgs.

Since that's really out of the question, it becomes a short topic to talk about.

Eh, I don't think they ever move Mackinnon but Duchene I could see.

Guy is electric but is he a championship #1 center?

Id do Myers+ 31+ Foligno

Idk...
Will the AVs do that deal?
They wanna win now I think
To me,
That means a defenseman more established like Ehrhoff
And a forward that can slot into RORs spot instead of a draft pick

But ya, I'd trade Pysyk & #22 for ROR in a heartbeat
If they'd take it

That would be a dial tone for Duchene.

Then why do u want him?
In that scenerio, I assume we want Ekblad in the draft
So what's better...
Ekblad & Duchene
Or
Reinhart, Myers, Foligno & #31

I'd do your trade
But bc I really like Ekblad
I think many here like Myers more though and would say no

He also is a little fragile... I don't know, like I said he's electric, but he's not that championship caliber center like Bergeron/Toews/Crosby/Kopitar

Mackinnon is though

It was reported he would nix any deal out west around the time of the deadline.

Then it was he can list 8 no thank you teams.

After the season he said he'd be open to a trade.

Who or what is to be believed?

Id still take Reinhart. I'd just keep the Hoff

I think a trio of Girgensons/Duchene/Reinhart, with possibly Grigorenko on the wing could look deadly.

Hoff/Risto
Pysyk/McCabe
Zadarov/ FA or trade

Imo, the AVs need defense
The only reason they MIGHT trade a guy like ROR is if they can get a defenseman they like, and a guy to replace ROR in the lineup
Otherwise, they keep him
The rest of those guys are untouchable most likely

81 of 82
80 of 82
58 of 82
47 of 48
71 of 82
337 of 376

good for 74 games played a year on avg. Outside of his 3rd year I see nothing wrong with his injury history. 20 of those games was a knee injury.

Why trade your best defensive forward to improve the teams defense? This is why I think they'd rather move a more 1 dimensional player

Idk, but if I was ehrhoff I'd accept a deal to the AVs
